We'll see if Poulin clears. Would think a San Jose or Chicago would take a chance on him. Also the Caps waived Ethan Bear too.FLPensFan wrote: Fri Oct 04, 2024 2:15 pmAccording to Eliotte Friedman, the following Penguins are on waivers to go to the AHL:

If Poulin gets claimed then good for him, he gets to stay in the NHL for a while but there’s already a bunch of guys with the same skill set he has shown in the NHL despite any potential and I don’t think anyone will claim him just yet, his personal leave has to be considered if you are going to make a waiver claim and use a roster spot up.

I can't seriously imagine a single person thought poulin was anything but a zero percent chance to make the team.

Anyone else surprised that Imama is still up? Granted he is the only player in the organization that willingly drops the gloves, so maybe that's called job security!
Sullivan has spoken pretty highly of him during camp.

I think that Ludvig gets claimed. An extra defenseman who plays physical is always welcome. I could see Philly, or Florida reclaiming him.Puck-Lurker wrote: Fri Oct 04, 2024 2:52 pmCalling it: Poulin clears.KG wrote: Fri Oct 04, 2024 2:20 pmWe'll see if Poulin clears. Re: 2024 Rookie/Training Camp Thread
They'd have to carry him on the roster though, I don't really see that happening longer term. But Ludvig is the most likely by far to get any interest. Maybe someone takes him, keeps him around for 20-30 games, eventually waives him and he comes back.dark_forces wrote: Fri Oct 04, 2024 4:20 pmI think that Ludvig gets claimed. For whatever reasons, Poulin has done F all at the NHL level so far, has not managed to make it to the main team. Meanwhile, 7th rounder Puustinen made the roster for half the season. He can hockey, but might be just another quad-A player at this point. And preseason wasn't kind on him; he's not getting claimed. Just not close enough to improving anyone's top 13-14 forwards.
Not that anyone cares, but with Ludvig (and Král) going down, Pens will have a roster without any Czechs on it for the first time in forever. Maybe even since Jágr joined in '90?

Brunicke should start in top 6. Bury Graves. Switch the saint to left side.

Slick hands from Puljujarvi for his own goal and then a nice one-touch pass to set up McGroarty. That's a nice line.

Nice couple shifts by the 3rd line. If this is the team that starts the season I wouldn’t hate it but obviously prefer Rust and EK to be healthy.

McGroarty- Eller-Puljujarvi is a solid line. Great to see McG get one.

Re: 2024 Rookie/Training Camp Thread
So, if you look at this lineup....where does anyone see Puustinen fitting in? I don't see a spot.
I'm also wondering if McGroarty has done enough to stay on the roster. He hasn't been scoring, until tonight, but I think his overall game has gotten better the more he has played.
Rust comes back, Beauvillier to the bench.
Lizotte comes back...I'm not sure I'm giving Lizotte a spot upon his return.
Again, some tough decisions coming for this roster construction.

Maybe we can trade them one. They have some nice young talent that would look in black and gold

Not really sure. But someone will claim Puustinen or even trade for him. I like his game and would hate to lose him for nothing.FLPensFan wrote: Fri Oct 04, 2024 8:27 pmSo, if you look at this lineup....where does anyone see Puustinen fitting in? I don't see a spot.

McGroarty is playing like he was told he’s starting in Pittsburgh while Rust is out injured and looks like he has less pressure on him.

Beauvillier as 13th for me and give Rutger a shot to see if he can continue to improve as he gets more comfortable/confidence. If not he can go down.
Puustinen likely gone.
Bottom 6 looking really good tonight. Why change it?
