Sully can never help himself destroying anything good the bottom 6 does. Eller is all alone on the 3rd line and Puljujarvi is not a 4th liner.

So far, so good. Impressive start, although they need to get some more shots and chances. Defensively, they look good, and I'm seeing more of Karlsson being Karlsson without bad pinches resulting in odd man breaks. Can we go a full period playing this way?

They always seem to lose on my birthday, I was trying to find a site that lists records on certain days but Google and Chat GPT failed me.

Oilers have taken a couple spills at the left face off dot on the side Pens are defending now. 1st period I thought they were taking a dive, now it looks like there is some bad ice there.

Is it too much to ask they get possession and keep it for awhile

Re: Official GDT: Pens @ Oilers 10/25/24
Obviously we need more offense, but, there are a lot of individual things that I like from this game:
--tops is obviously Blomqvist is seeing a lot of rubber (too much), but looks dialed in
--I'm seeing a lot of what we need from Karlsson...more rushes up ice without bad pinching. Multiple shifts tonight, he's been "the guy" on the 4th line. He's clearly driving play there and making smart offensive reads without giving up bad defensive breaks.
--I've seen Graves playing fairly solidly, and actually using the body more, and effectively
Overall, the team is playing well defensively, which is something they are going to need more often this season. But they'll have to be able to generate more offense out of this defensive posture.

Pens look slow, out of sync, and overmatched, especially the top two lines.
And it feels like Ryan Graves has played the entire game.

30 shots against halfway through the game? Seems like a bad plan!

How the hell did Pettersson miss the net there? Then a post and that happens. Ugh!

Pettersson can’t miss the net there, Eller hits a **** post and then Draisatal hits a post but gets the right side of it to score. Awesome.
