My favorite NHL isn't allowed to play since he doesn't come from the 4 Nations playing. Absolutely not watching, and F the NHL.

Mario getting his Name Chanted by the His Home Town Montreal Crowd and giving the Team Canada Starting Lineup was Awesome.

Sid with the brilliant pass on the PP to set up MacKinnon for that Goal was Special.A PP with Sid,McDavid and MacKinnon up front.Wow.For an Old Timer like me that would be like having Mario,Gretzky and Mike Bossy as that Group.
Mario, Jagr, and Francis was pretty good one too. :)

Sid looks fantastic and obviously pumped to be representing. The "3rd line" of Marchand-Point-Jarvis is going to be very difficult for opponents to handle.

3 assists for Sid. McDavid maintains his habit of not showing up in games that matter.

Sid with 3 primary assists. Unreal. So grateful to have had him all these years.

Agreed! At 37 and the roar of a champion was such a treat to watch from a pure hockey fans perspective. You just have to know that he wants at least one more Cup win to cement his legacy as the greatest player ever in his generation. Can he waive his rights for a trade? Absolutely. Will the return be a treasure chest of great bounty? Probably not.

Speak with his agent, who confidently speaks with KD, who confidently speaks with the GM Crosby would accept a trade to. The heavenly stars are aligned and this happens.

Caveat, Crosby returns to the Penguins and concludes his career here.

In other observations, Sweden played up for the challenge. If this game is any indication, 4 Nations should not be a cakewalk for any of the teams.

I'm surprised by the non-interest in this tournament for the board. This is a best-on-best tournament with NHL players and it means something. Yes, having Russia and the Czechs would be better but it is still pretty damn great. The game tonight was very fast and played at a very high level. The crowd was into it. Mario's introduction was spectacular. Sid had three assists including on the OT goal. Why is that not worth watching? I plan on seeing every game that I can.

It's pretty much an improved all star tournament.

Only NHL players. Lots of complaints about no Czechs and Russians but I can think of other countries that could have had a team here, but won't because they'd need non NHL players

Could have had a good European team that wasn’t made up of players from Sweden, Finland or Russia. The 2016 WC had 8 teams adding Russia, Czechia, the general Europe team and the U23 North America team to the 4 we have now.

I don't want a Russian team in any tournament as long as they are bombing Ukraine.

I wasn't very interested to begin with, but I turned the game on and had it on through it's entirely. Didn’t watch all of it, but a lot of it, but what I did watch....wow. I plan to watch all of the games. Better than I anticipated.

I would go as far as saying they should try to expand this in the future. If Russia ever starts behaving, add a Russian team, add a Czech/Slovakia team, and maybe add a Europe team to cover Switzerland, Germany, Belarus type countries that can't field enough players on their own.

I heard they are bringing back World Cup of Hockey in 2028. Seems like their plan is for 4 Nations (or expanded), Olympics, and World Cup to be every 2 years. Fill in All star games on the odds years, but they need to find a way to make all star game entertaining again.

This tournament like the Olympics is designed to be non-political. Russia and the Czech Republic should be invited. Are you upset that there are Russians playing in the NHL? Then according to your statement they shouldn’t play.

Should the US be involved, if they supply bombs to countries to bomb other countries?

How about we just keep politics out of hockey?

That's exactly how I feel. I was in the majority in the poll that I'll watch it because the NHL is on pause and it's something to watch.

Didn't even know the first game was last night and missed the first period. Like you, once I turned it on, it stayed on.

I may not get to see all of it, but I think I'll be setting the DVR for the rest of the tourney. That was some fun hockey to watch.

From what I saw, EK & Rakell seemed to be play fairly well. Hopefully they (especially EK) can flourish in this tournament and up their trade value a little further.

I found the 10-minute OT interesting. McDavid said this is better than going to a shootout. MacKinnon didn't like it though.

I wonder if they will ever try this in the regular season.
