That sucks. Not surprising, but it sucks.
He's okay, supposedly.

Yes, and I believe they said he was coaching Dek Hockey out in the other end of the state.
I'm not sure if he gets paid for that... probably does. Either way, it does kind of show his true appreciation of the game. Plus, he's coaching kids. In the wake of the Lemieux retirement last week, I remembered the goal that #66 scored off the faceoff as a bet with MM. After scoring, he turned, smiled, and raised his arms to MM in the press box. MM had to pay up some money to Mario's foundation. II can't think that Mario's judgement in character were such that he'd befriend... as much as he could a media member... a guy that was as 'rotten' as MM likes to make himself appear on-air. I think, or rather I hope, that there is another side to him that is much different from the radio persona we all either like or dislike strongly. I
I hope he's back on the air and in better health soon. Sports talk was going to be hockey-thin the next month or so anyway around these parts, but if he's gone for any extended period of time, it will be practically non-existent.

Best wishes...
I didn't hear anything about Madden until this thread. I usually tuned into him on my trips home from work but it seems as if the past few weeks he hasn't been on much and some other ESPN bit was always playing. Did I just tune in at the wrong time or did he have quite some time off?
