Yes....the Shield/SOA combo on Tuesday/Wednesday is so clutch.....not to change the subject, but I've watched the Shield since season 1, and thought the first few episodes of this last season absolutely sucked. the last 3 or 4 on the other hand, have been absolute classics. can't wait to see how they end it. sons of anarchy also rules......jay karnes is the man, sad to see him go.IrishEyes wrote:Been able to see every ep so far, what with FX playing it on other nights as well as Wednesday. Re: Sons of Anarchy...
Last night's SOA was AMAZING! The scene where (i cant remembr character names
) the rogue ATF agent assaults the doctor was some of the most intense TV I have ever seen. My wife chalked it up to the car jacking episode from Six Feet Under if anyone watched that show.
The show gets better each week and the acting is fantastic! The story is really coming along and you can tell the show is doing well. I now have mandatory TV Sunday-Wednesday.

He's still on The Shield though. Re: Sons of Anarchy...
I really enjoyed how that played out, with the conversation beforehand of changing and not changing, and Jax saying about Tara thinking he was off doing bad things... and then the resolution of Kohn being there (don't want to give away any spoilers for those who may not have seen it). It was fantastically done, so much so that I jumped. And it takes a lot to make me jump watchin tv or movies.PensFanInDC wrote:Last night's SOA was AMAZING! I think what I really like about the show is that it's about something that most of us (at least, I'm guessing) don't know anything about. The Sons of Anarchy live in a world entirely unlike our own... and yet, we can identify with the family aspect of it, the friendship side of it.
Wow, I just turned philosophical. I should go back to work.

Re: Sons of Anarchy...
I like how the show is developing, but I'm not sure how long of an arc it can really have. The tension between Jax and Clay is already pretty advanced. I'd like to see more of the history of the gang. I think they could probably do at least a full season on that, possibly with Jax' father involved.

Yeah, been watching his stuff since "Homicide, Life on the Streets" (Best police show, ever, IMO). Love his character on the Shield, too. Too bad that will be ending this year.jay karnes is the man, sad to see him go.
Wonder where he'll show up next?
SoA is developing nicely. I'm glad I've got PVR on my Dish.

I'm wondering if they'll be giving him more of a starring role on a new FX show for next year. I was surprised that he was killed off so quickly in SoA. I thought he might continue on with that show since The Shield was ending.

Re: Sons of Anarchy...
I have to start off by saying that I could do without a gratuitous rape scene. We can get the point without showing it...
Other than that it was a FANTASTIC episode!
I thought the whole Clay/Jax, I think he knows/I know what you did thing was going to go on for a while. Glad to see them get it out so early.
Henry Rollins can't act
I'm digging the new antagonist for this season. The situation that has unfolded (Aryans moving in and trying to get rid of samcrow, raping Jax's mom/Clay's wife, pushing vermin like that 2-bit nazi to sell drugs and prostitution) is going to create some really good story this season. Clay and Jax will have to work together and that alone will make for good TV.
I think (and this isn't my faith speaking) that Jax's mom finds God this season. There was the symboligy (insert Boondock Saints joke) with her noticing the cop in the sanctuary and then the cross on the wall in the warehouse. I really hope it turns out that way.
All in all, a good episode and I look forward to seeing how it goes.

Re: Sons of Anarchy...
I was in full shock mode when I saw what they were doing to Gemma. I didn't expect that. Jax protecting Opie is something I saw coming, but I'm not sure I agree with how he's going about it. When it eventually comes out who killed Donna, I really don't think Opie is going to thank Jax at all. (Also on that, what's with the previews for next week with Opie telling Clay he's on his side?!)PensFanInDC wrote:I have to start off by saying that I could do without a gratuitous rape scene. I already hate the new bad guys, which is what you're supposed to do, I guess. And you're right, it will make for some very good TV.
And I still think I hate Tara.

Very good show. I'm wondering if all that has happened with Gemma will eventually lead her to start questioning Samcro in the same way that Jax has been.

Re: Sons of Anarchy...
There is something going on with Gemma spiritually. Her character is being led towards God. I know what you are thinking, "Here PFiDC goes again!" but there have been so many hints to that already. I could be wrong though.MWB wrote:Very good show. I'm wondering if all that has happened with Gemma will eventually lead her to start questioning Samcro in the same way that Jax has been.

No, I agree with you, there is something there. A lot of scenes in the hospital sanctuary. She'll be doing a lot of soul searching this season. In the end though, I don't think she'll make a major life change.

Re: Sons of Anarchy...
We started DVRing it this year, to fill the Rescue Me void. Saw most of last night's episode last night but haven't watched the season premiere yet. Looks good from what I have seen. Saw the first season on DVD at BJ's Wholesale yesterday. Didn't look close enough at the price - sure it's in the $32-39 range if it's like the Rescue Me seasons have been.

It was like watching the last 20 minutes of Requiem For A Dream.

Re: Sons of Anarchy...
I don't think Gemma is going to question the club. She's far too in it for that. I agree that she's doing some major soul searching, and that's going to play a part at some point.
The biggest things I noticed? Tig knows that it wasn't a car crash. The look on his face when Gemma walked into the clubhouse while Bobby was getting patched up says it all. And the other thing... the blatant lying between her and Jax. "Are you okay?" "I'm fine. You?" "I'm fine." Neither of them are fine. Gemma may have lied to Jax on a regular basis, but I don't think he lied to her all that much. I think it's pretty significant.
How about Opie pulling the suicidal walk through the gun fire? I really think he's going to sink deeper before he ever comes out of it. And he won't come out of it until he learns the truth. Then look out, Clay!

There is no question that a major player is going to die this season. Tig or Opie or both.IrishEyes wrote:I don't think Gemma is going to question the club. She's far too in it for that. I agree that she's doing some major soul searching, and that's going to play a part at some point.

My wife thinks, and I agree, that Gemma will end up taking care of her situation on her own. She saw the tattoo and when she sees it again she will begin planning something. As far as her soul searching goes, I don't think it will have anything to do with leaving the club but I DO think it will have something to do with Jax and his dad's manifest. Jax is already trying to make the club legit with their new biz venture (even though I personally don't think porn is a very legitimate business, but it is legal.). If Gemma does continue to soul search she may even end up forgiving the men who attacked her......now that doesnt mean that Jax or Clay or Tig will

Re: Sons of Anarchy...
Like a complete dork, I belong to a SOA board. One of the guys on there had a great theory that I didn't think of. Tig becomes Gemma's white knight, and gets rid of AJ (the guy who attacked her). It's obvious, at least to me, that Tig knows something is up. Gemma doesn't want the club to know, but if Tig has already guessed... he could easily take care of the problem without anyone else finding out.PensFanInDC wrote:There is no question that a major player is going to die this season. Re: Sons of Anarchy...
Well... PFIDC, what'd you think?
Hale disappointed me. I was really hoping he'd do the right thing and bust Darby.
Clay continues to make decisions on his own, and then tells Jax to think about someone other than himself? I think they both need to stop doing that. Bobby had a very good point. Guys are getting worried, and something tells me that right now, they're going to side with Clay, since he's the Prez.
Next week looks good. Gemma recognizing one of her attackers is pretty brutal, and her wanting to take action on her own is something I would do in her situation.

I love this freakin' show!!
