This is probably what I am getting...I'm due for it on Feb. 20thdodint wrote:I have a Galaxy Note 3 and it's surpassed my expectations in every way. I got it on launch day in October, not sure if people are still looking at them or not.

Is the note 3 essentially the s4 with a larger screen?

No. It has the stylus with more features associated with it and some other things. Only thing similar is it's using Touchwiz and most likely still Jellybean.mac5155 wrote:Is the note 3 essentially the s4 with a larger screen?

So as far as the regular user, the s4 would be a better option?

Re: How many of you own a droid?
How big of a screen do you want? The Note 3 is huge. I think the S4 is too big for me but I have girly hands so my opinion is skewed. I'd love to see a 4.7" Galaxy line with kitkat but don't see that happening.mac5155 wrote:So as far as the regular user, the s4 would be a better option?
I'd wait to see what the S5 looks like before buying an S4 right now but a new Note model won't be out until the fall.

Re: How many of you own a droid?
I have an s2 and I think I could go bigger screen size. I doubt I'll use the stylus feature so I'm wondering if the note would be worth it for the bigger screen.

Re: How many of you own a droid?
I'm a big guy, so the Note 3 fits me very well. I have it in a leather wallet case and it's replaced my wallet, so I still only carry one bulky thing in my pocket.
The really great thing about the Note 3 is the battery. It has a really long battery life because of the size, and it charges very quickly because it has that new MicroUSB connector that charges much faster. N3 is backwards compatible to the older MicroUSB as well but it won't charge as quickly.
My wife got an S4 around the same time I upgraded. She just doesn't have the hands for the N3 and doesn't have use for the stylus. In fact, I don't use the stylus on the N3 just because I stopped using them years ago and I don't feel like going back. They're both great handsets.
mac, if you have the hands for it, the bigger screen size is awesome. I love using the Navigation, for instance.

I think I'm going to wait until the S5 specs are confirmed then go with either it or the N3

Anyone know a site that will do cellphone trades? I'm tired of trying to get used to my Verizon Galaxy S4.

Re: How many of you own a droid?
So I think I am making the jump to AT&T. My contract expires in two months. Last month Verizon sent me a message saying I need to show them that I still work at CMU to gain the discount that I receive. I went online to do this and they said my work email was not valid. I went there last weekend to show them a pay stub and they won't credit my account for lost money. I plan on returning there this week to tell them I am making the jump due to this. Verizon's arrogance is really starting to tick me off.

Just looked my contract expires tomorrow. I will give Verizon one last chance and then I'm out.
How do I go about keeping my number?

Have your new company port it. Just let them know while they're activating the phone.

Re: How many of you own a droid?
Do I need to cancel the old service first or just go directly to the new company so I don't lose it?

Re: How many of you own a droid?
You need to initiate the port while the old service is still active. The porting process will actually signal to the old company that you've terminated, but you can follow up with them afterward to tie up loose ends if you want.

What about AT&T's service is better? I've never had an issue with VZW.

No problem. Worked for RadioShack in the 'oughts and ported lotz of peoples numbers, including my own Verizon to Sprint migration.

When I got my first phone it was with AT&T. I didn't have good coverage where I was living and had a horrible experience with customer service. I will never go back to them.

Re: How many of you own a droid?
I have the note 3 and love it. I don't use the stylus as much as I thought I would but the screen is awesome.
Also to echo above, battery life is really good.
