Holding out for specs on the S5 until I pull the trigger on either it or the note 3

Re: How many of you own a droid?
My contract is up in July. My S3 has major issues with the lock button that are driving me nuts. It's fine otherwise, but basically it acts randomly and if I power it down, it pulses unless I take out the battery. I had to download an app to actually lock the phone since the button only works when you don't want it to.
With all that said... I'm not exactly in a hurry to upgrade or renew my contract because I don't want to lose my unlimited data... so it's kind of a catch-22. I could buy a phone outside of Verizon, but a comparable phone still costs like $300 which is absurd... and once my contract ends, they could technically decide to revoke the unlimited data at any point should they choose to do so.
I don't necessarily use an obscene amount of data each month, but I like not having to even think about it.

Yea, I lost my unlimited data when I upgraded, but my wife and I went with the 6GB plan. That should be plenty for the 2 of us.

My iphone's hold button has not worked since August or so...but i'm now used to it. I can actually get an upgrade now, but i am not even interested in getting a new phone since i am used to it now.

Re: How many of you own a droid?
I wouldn't care if it was just that the lock button didn't work, but it's worse than that... it triggers randomly if I hold the phone near the button. Like the power menu will popup while I'm in the middle of typing and I'll accidentally mute the phone or click reset or something like that. Or it will randomly lock. That becomes annoying quite fast.

Is it like the cool thing to do now to rip on Samsung? The phone looks pretty great and everyone is saying it's nothing special.

Best thing is the water resistant features. My wife is hoping they add that to the next Note 4.

That is the only thing that still has me considering it. But once that flap breaks off the USB port water resistant is donezo.

My wife has an S4. She likes it. I was gonna hold out for the S5, but meh. I got an LG G2. Good so far, just took some time getting used to the volume keys being on the back of the phone. Other than that spec wise is top of the line pretty much with whats out there.

I might hold out until March 25, when HTC is supposed to release the sequel to the HTC one. Then go from there.

I have the Nexus 7. It's really nice, and as an iPhone user I really like the freedom.
Also, I'm an Android Software Intern, so I got that going for me.

Just from a development standpoint, developing for Android is insanely more convenient than for iOS (you have to own a Mac and learn Apple's wonky language)skullman80 wrote:I pretty much refuse to go to the dark side(apple).

What should I look for when buying a craigslist phone other than the obvious shady character

ESN, MEID, etc. so you can make sure it's not blacklisted and can be activated. Also ask for an actual picture of the phone to look for any damage.mac5155 wrote:What should I look for when buying a craigslist phone other than the obvious shady character
