Let the record show that this gentleman has never hit the ball onto the road on number one

Number 11? All the damn time.

The first-tee jitters are definitely a thing. Feels so satisfying to let a nice drive rip right off the bat, instead of flubbing it 50 yards right in front of the clubhouse.

Played the magnolia course in Disney from the tips 2 Sundays ago. Shot an 83. Not bad considering its a pga destination and i was using rental clubs. If i didn't suck the first nine, 45, then i would have had a really nice round. 5 damn three putts on the first 9...

Nice. I played there last year and honestly didn't like the course that much. You play any other Orlando courses?

Played the magnolia course there. It was 7 a.m. in mid July and god awful hot. This gentleman ended up getting paired up with two a-holes from Louisiana that thought it was hi-larious that kenny the kangaroo was ready to spontaneously combust. It was this gentleman's first time on bermuda grass and that resulted in a lot of strange shots out of the rough.

Playing a par 3 tournament this weekend with some friends of mine. They set up all 18 holes as par threes, and they're putting the tee locations in weird spots, so you have to hit interesting shots. It's either going to be a fun time or frustrating as hell... we'll see.

The Mag can be a real pain in the you-know-what if you start getting off line. Even though it's a resort course, that Bermuda is a beast, especially during the summer months. You could hit it a foot off the fairway and not find the ball. But it'll strengthen your wrists!!

Orlando Penguin have you played Streamsong yet? I played both while I was down there. Seems like you probably have played some nice courses than I have, but man that was awesome.

I have not made my way down there yet. I have co-workers who have played it and had good things to say about it. I've played all of 4 times this year which is pretty much sacrilege given where I live.

Given the demands of those courses, his skill can shine through....at least that's my theory.

Set your alarm clocks. 5am start time on ESPN rather than 7am due to the split-tee weather-related start.

First time in 143 years. Is this really necessary? I understand the occasional stoppage due to lightning or hail, but weather has always been a part of the Open. They have fifteen hours of daylight.

They were afraid of lightning and torrential downpours that would make the course borderline unplayable. I guess Royal Liverpool is a little different from the other links courses in that it doesn't drain as well? It has to have been something extreme for them to make this decision but right now, it's looking pretty good. They'd better get thru this unscathed because giving up 2 hours of sleep time for a rain delay is not on my list of things to do today.

Normally, I'd be ready to start the engraving on the trophy but since this is the British Open and who knows if/when the weather will turn, let's not start handing out the big cardboard check yet.

Rory has a history of epic meltdowns. But yes, unless that happens, you're right, no drama.

On second thought... Rory's had his history of terrible rounds. I can't recall if he's ever done it while leading a tournament on Sunday though.

The 2011 Masters is the only one that comes to mind. His reputation as a choker that he's been given recently is strange and largely unfound. He's most likely going to win his 3rd major championship at the age of 25 tomorrow, all of them in dominant fashion.

The only choke other than the '11 Masters that pops into my head is this year's Honda when he went into the final round up by 2, then led by 2 going to the 16th hole only to rinse one, bogey 17 to fall 1 behind, then nearly eagle the last to win, ultimately losing in the playoff. I don't think he yaks it tomorrow, considering he's only made 3 bogeys in this entire tournament and 2 of them came on the 1st hole.

Interesting enough, Rory's pops can cash in big time with 3 friends if Rory seals the deal tomorrow -- http://espn.go.com/golf/theopen14/story ... n-title-26" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'm not saying he's a choker, I just know that there are days he's able to put up some high scores.

Oh yeah, I didn't want to sound like I was referring to you. I was just speaking about the recent media trend of only talking about if Rory would fall apart after another remarkable start, which really hasn't been a problem outside a few isolated incidents. He has a propensity to go very low and at times very high, but I don't think there's a correlation between when they'll happen.

Now just watch him go out and fire a 77 tomorrow...
