Wtf must one do to not get tax return paperwork from municipalities in which one used to reside but no longer does? I seriously got three separate forms this year.

Be happy you got one. I was waiting until yesterday for my fiancee's to come and it never did. I didn't know what tax collector to send her return to.

Surely I don't have to fill out three returns? I should be able to just call them and tell them I moved, right?

I believe there are boxes at the top to figure the credits for each municipality. Not sure about having to fill out multiple returns or not

Question. I dropped off my local taxes yesterday and paid them their $$$. The secretary told me that I now have to make quarterly payments. She gave me the forms and it's not like the fed estimated quarterlies, they want me to determine my net profits every quarter and that's going to be a big PITA. If I don't make these quarterly payments, will I just get a small fine plus interest penalty?

bumping this old thread.

how can they verify that I was paid employer assistance for tuition reimbursement? Cause if I can get rid of the employer reimbursement I'd get an extra grand in my pocket :pop:

uhhh...then you are just paying too much throughout the year and should adjust your withholding. The $ you get back does not mean you have a great accountant. Just go to box 5 or 6 and put a high number and call me...I can get you 10 times more back if that is all you care about.

Anyone know if I can get a tax break for buying a second home overseas? And how would I document it?

IS income from qualified dividends treated like capital gains, i.e. if you make less than $X amount of money do you still have to include it on your income/AGI? It's only $30 but still. Also the dividends were reinvested.

If they were dividends paid out, even back into the stock, you should have gotten a 1099 from them for more than $10. If it's an IRA, then your won't get anything nor have to put it on the return.

Also, did you have any stock sales where the dividends are from? Those 1099s didn't have to be mailed until last Friday so they should be rolling in any day now and those statements will put dividends on them.

http://www.irs.gov" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Go to Where's my refund link and then continue on the next page. You will need your SS#, filing status, and EXACT refund amount.

IRS didn't give a "set" schedule this year for refunds being deposited. If you are getting the refund by paper check, could take 6-8 weeks. Should only take ~10 days if direct deposit once return has been efiled.
