Re: SNATCH (the game thread)
Troy - I did not originally like your shaf suspicion because I am not a fan of Day 1 analysis in the way you were doing it -- you were essentially saying whoever gets here (a game thread) first gets to decide who dies and anyone who "derails the bandwagon" (even one vote later in this case) is suspicious. I don't really buy that as a general rule.
That being said, I am not fully buying into shaf's claim right now so I'd be interested to see how you think this fits with the thg part of your theory (if it changes anything), since even though I don't agree with your o riginal suspicion, your being right seems like a definite possibility here.

While there is no evidence that shaf is the angel, I don't think voting for him when he is likely a green is a good idea

So Slappy makes fun of the shaf defense and then buys into it at the last moment? Ok...

why?Kraftster wrote:Troy - I did not originally like your shaf suspicion because I am not a fan of Day 1 analysis in the way you were doing it -- you were essentially saying whoever gets here (a game thread) first gets to decide who dies and anyone who "derails the bandwagon" (even one vote later in this case) is suspicious. lets look at everyone's incentive:
blues/non-seer greens - should support any bandwagon that isn't themselves. that means they aren't the victim. the only role they know is their own, they have no reason to pose anything unless they want to expose some tell they think they picked up on.
seer - should support any bandwagon that is not them, may also attempt to divert bandwagon is player being killed by chance is a blue/green they viewed on first night.
reds - they know whos good and whos bad. will support any blue/green bandwagon, will hesitate to jump on red bandwagons to preserve numbers.
Shaf had no reason to speak out against a thg bandwagon. his post wouldn't have caught my eye, if he hadn't said specifically "i'm not voting for thg". if he just said yellow senka, i wouldnt have noticed.

Re: SNATCH (the game thread)
Interesting. I guess its probably because I know there have been plenty of times where I just don't feel like voting out a good/participating player just because and I randomly vote for someone else. I suppose I do see what you are saying about Day 1 votes, though.
I guess I'd feel more comfortable voting out a green role claim this early if there were some targets that would look really bad/probably red if it ends up that shaf is telling the truth. I guess we could look towards Zaro if he's red. Troy's been vocal but making some good observations. Just seems early to vote a potential green without a clear fall back if Shaf is actually green.

Kraftster wrote:I am more inclined to go with BCS. Like was pointed out, he was doing his "ha ha" self early on and since he's gotten a little heat, he's sort of disappeared. Last game he was blue and he caused a bit of confusion in my opinion by keeping up the ha ha thing. Using that as a baseline for his blue conduct, I could see him being a bit spooked about the attention in his first game as a red.
lynch bob cole
I don't think I'm switching to shaf and this post by BCS does absolutely nothing to change my original feelings, so my vote is sticking with BCS for right now.Bob Cole's Senility wrote:I learned my lesson from last game that it's better to not stir up crap early in the game. There's still a lot of confusion out there and it's needless to be over the top right now when it's difficult to find a strategy of who the bad guys are yet. Unlynch Mac. Lynch Shaf. Color please. Blackberry doesn't have an LGP Games function yet.

Re: SNATCH (the game thread)
i apologize, i should have specified that the angel should not come out if shaf is lying, i was merely saying it's a good move by shaf regardless of whether he is or is not the angel.slappybrown wrote:No, the real angel should not come out, and its hardly "certain" to do that. The angel doesnt have to do anything. See my post above. DO NOT COME OUT NOW ANGEL.count2infinity wrote:we've done a great job lately of singling greens out early in the game.
troy brings up an interesting point here... it's a good move by shaf. if he really is the angel, then he doesn't get lynched, if he's not the angel, his role claim is almost certain to bring out the real angel.

Re: SNATCH (the game thread)
this is what i see as a problem with these games lately... everyone is so worried about looking out for number 1. there's no reason for a blue to pull any selfish plays. That's one of the downfalls of the village. Without getting conversation going, it's impossible to find reds. blues are so afraid now to even postulate a theory for fear that if they're wrong, they're dead. i remember some of the older games, the thread was sooooo much bigger at the end of the game because people actually talked, they actually discussed what they were thinking in trying to find a baddie, rather than just sitting around, twiddling thumbs and waiting for the seer to come out and say who they found.Troy Loney wrote:
