Yeah, you could be right about the negotiation.
I was just listening to one of the Nats' beat writers talking about Harper. He said some of his mannerisms during the game (pre-AB routine, glaring at umps) make him look like a punk, but when he talked with him he seemed pretty decent. He thinks those mannerisms will get weeded out soon enough by fellow players and coaches, because if they're not a pitcher will bean him in the head.
