I enjoy gaming and am sure it will be much better in the future. With the advancement in gaming that I have seen in the last 30 years, I can't imagine what it will be like 30 years from now. I'm guessing you will be totally immersed in some kind of virtual setting. My 65" HD TV will be old fashioned just like my 12" B&W TV is today. It probably will be hard for you to quit gaming. It is for me.

Really enjoying Forza 5. The detail in the cockpit/driver view is amazing and the car handling/performance is fairly realistic.

But, the AI is **** dumb as rocks. They use "drivatars", which is a recording (more or less) of you and your friends/other people as you play the game. It's a good idea in theory, but most of my friends who have played the game are the kind that prefer to run you off the road rather than try to, you know, drive the track. Can't tell you how many times I've given the AI tons of room, only to have them swerve right into me and knock me off the road. I like driving games because racing is fun. Crashing people off the track is not racing.

I can understand rubbing, but it's not rubbing when you deviate from your path enough that if I hit the brakes, you're flying off the track.

Setting up "the kids" PS4 for Santa this morning.

Do you guys think a PS Plus subscription would be worth it for an 8 and 6 year old? Are there enough non-Mature rated games available for them to play? I guess you need it for multiplayer games, but I don't see them playing those much - except Minecraft, of course. Are the Lego games online multiplayer/co-op? That would be cool.

Also, which charging base do you recommend?

I think I'm going to throw in the towel on Destiny. I bought it based on the recommendation of friends, but its just not the right kind of game for me. I'm glad I got a good used price on it since I'll probably get my money back.

Suikoden 2 has a mini game that's a parody of Iron Chef. Rival chefs challenge your castle cook, and you plan out a menu for a panel of judges.

It made me laugh pretty good.

Thinking of getting back into the gaming scene. Seems I think about it every time as Christmas approaches, getting nostalgic thinking of all those all day Christmas days obsessed with a new system or game. Problem is, I'm so out of the loop on video games I'm embarrassed to even ask questions. What are the top two consoles out now? Still PS4/X Box one? What if I'm not prime for spending a lot of money, are the systems that preceded those two obsolete now (keep in mind a PS3 would probably blow my mind lol) I'm actually more worried about money spent than anything as I tend to grow tired of playing pretty easy for often months at a time until I pick up a controller again.

Kerbal Space Program has jumped from version 0.25 to version 0.90 and has moved from alpha to beta. The switch signals that all of the guts of the game are in place programming-wise, and from this point out the devs will focus on adding content. For example, this release added biomes to every moon and planet in the game, so the amount of obtainable science just skyrocketed.

I think it depends on the kinds of games you like to play. FPS and online multiplayer are probably better on Xbox, Playstation has more exclusive story based games (adventure and rpg), and Nintendo still has a lot of platformers and more old school types of games.

There are tons of good older games you could buy used from $5-$20 on 360 or PS3 - Assassins Creed, Grand Theft Auto 4&5, Uncharted 1-3, The Last of Us, Ghostbusters, Modern Warfare 1-3, Gran Turino, Forza, Sonic Racing, Gears of War, Batman Arkham Asylum, and tons more.

Bingo. This is the key to enjoying your console, more so than nearly anything else IMO.

Ps3 is good, especially if you like to watch movies, because it has blu ray.

Yea I have 2 Ps3's. 1 that I play games on, and another that my fiance had when we first met that we use it just for watching blu rays. That thing is a work horse because we watch a lot of movies.

Yeah the Ps3 even to this day is still one of the better bluray players out there, the fact that it doubled for a good game machine made it twice as nice.

The bluray player was one of the reasons that I ultimately got a ps3. They had games I had always wanted to play, so I figured why buy just a br player.

I would definitely NOT recommend the Xbox One as a bluray player. Its nice that it can do it, but the transport interface is crappy and the console cant properly output an HD audio bitstream.

Buy a 360 and watch hd-dvds on it :)

Plants vs. Zombies 2. Loved the first one. Really liked the 2nd one until the beach and dark ages worlds. They are flat impossible to beat without buying coins or upgrades. Any strategy like the first game is gone. There's not plants to counter insanely overpowered zombies like the wizard, squid thrower, or fishing zombie.Really disappointing.

I'd go look at lists of the top 10 games in your favorite genre for each of the past few older consoles that yo missed out on and then read about each of those games and get one of the older consoles. I have had a 360 since 09 or so and I have a dozen or so games left that I still want to play. You have basically done the video game equivalent of never having seen breaking bad until the series ended.

^ I'm actually on my second go around with BB, began and ended it last February :)

I basically just play your sports games (NHL, Tiger, Madden) but I'd like to get into actual story games like GTAV. Got a friend that offered a 360 to me pretty cheap but I still have a soft spot for PS since that's all Im basically used to since my Gamecube.
