When PS3 first came out, it was actually one of the best Blu-ray players on the market.

I just learned that PS4 can play Blu-ray discs after running a firmware update.

Anybody looking for a 360, Newegg has a 4gb unit with Peggle 2 and 12 months of Xbox Live for $150. If you factor in 12 months of Live usually goes for $40 it's a pretty decent deal.

You will need to purchase an external drive to do pretty much anything.

I use a 32gb SanDisk Flash Drive I got for $10 on mine and have no problems with it.

When I was teaching high school, any bit of free time the kids may have had they were jumping onto computers and playing plants vs zombies and peggle 2.

Really? I didn't have any trouble with it.

They likely did the Dragon Keep thing because you can't import last gen saves on current gen consoles.

I like the idea of changing certain world state options without having to replay the previous games again.

I asked the google machine, but I didnt really get a good answer. How does one hook up an old school NES to a HDTV? I have the old converter that you used to plug the cable wire/tv back in the day. Also considering unboxing my Wii just to play Super Mario Bros Wii.

I finally got it to work. It was definitely user error. I guess. I dunno, I like the idea after I got it to work, but I am bummed that my characters were there to be used, but none of their accomplishments and I had to try and recall how I played each character.

My Sega Genesis looks like hot garbage on my 24" LCD TV. I'm using the coax adapter that came with it. Supposedly there are upscaling adapters that fix this, but I'm not sure the juice is worth the squeeze.

Might as well crank up the Wii, in your case.

The only thing that sucks is I want to play Mario 1-3 and the lag in the jump on the Wii version of said games sucks.

The NES has an RCA output on the side. Use that and it should be fine. I run mine on a 72" HDTV and it looks good.

I know this isn't related to the mobile versions of PvZ, but with EA Access on Xbone, I decided to try out PvZ: Garden Warfare. Holy crap, it's awesome. It's incredibly fun and challenging. I was expecting it to just be a really dumbed down kiddie Call of Duty, but it's a really well thought-out game. Easy for anyone to pick up and play, but it takes actual skill to get good.

Coax is your failpoint. Always try to get away from that if you can. And if you can't, like with an Atari, use a gold-tipped phono-to-F adapter. You can actually modify the board on an Atari and get independent sound and video leads but that goes against the spirit of it to me.

For the Sega Genesis you can get this:

If it's a Sega Genesis 1 the cable will look the same but will only have mono sound.

The only system I have that really looks horrific no matter what I do is the Sega Saturn. They tried so hard to get away from side scrolling and do the 3D rendering and it was really, really bad. No amount of clarity is going to help that.

That's what I was referring to. If your HDTV only has component inputs, hook the video cable to the first video jack of the component input and the audio to the white input. Most component inputs will also function as composite/RCA inputs if you only use one color.

I finally found the gloves for the Might of the Earth set in Diablo 3. This gives my barbarian the ability to cast earthquake every time he leaps. Couple that with the boots that give me three leaps before the cool down starts, it's now an extremely broken build. Like just a ridiculous amount of AoE damage. This is now better than my Fist of the Heavens crusader. I still need a couple more pieces for it to be PERFECT, but right now, I'm blowing through T4 with no problems at all.

Yeah, the Wii U version plans to use a crosshair on the screen instead of relying on light.

I'm not sure the details, but I think you can be the duck hunt dog in the new smash bros. Anyone play it yet?

There's the Duck Hunt dog & also a Duck Hunt stage where you get unimportant stage "points" for hitting ducks out of the air. Can also hide behind the brush & stuff, pretty fun stage. Game as a whole's really good (if you like that sort of game), and the dog has a really unique feel to it as a character.

White PS4 Destiny bundle for $350 at Best Buy. That's a savings of a $100 over MSRP.

PS4 bundle at Amazon is $399 w/The Last of Us and your choice of: Destiny, NBA 2K15, Far Cry 4, or Little Big Planet 3. Both games are digital.

Wish they'd sell the console only for $350 since I have zero interest in any of those games. I'm using Amazon gift cards so I don't have a choice of vendor. From what I've gathered Destiny is almost too open, with a lot of grinding (boring). FC4 isn't really my genre but is supposed to be great. LBP3, no. Already have Alien: Isolation so it's not like I need a game right now.

Might get the basketball game. Not a fan of the NBA but always liked 2K sports.
