Dudeman is definitely going to sac up on this one. I can tell this is something that will drive me nuts if I just let it go. Just need to choose a course of action. The good news is I know she is gone this weekend with friends for a bachelorette party so I have an excuse to not do anything this weekend.KennyTheKangaroo wrote:Well whats the verdict duderman are you going to square up or let this one pass?

Re: Rylan's Thread of Personal Committed Relationships
If my current wife ever dumped me, I'd just stay single the rest of my life. I've already let myself go, my ambitions are not where they used to be when it comes to chasing the opposite sex, and if I need lov'in, there are hookers.

You don't even have to like Nintendo to find that costume alluring. I just don't get why they put Carmen Electra in it.

The thought of a hooker grosses me out. Plus couple that with being a pretty frugal person, the image of the type of person i'd be dealing with at my price point, kills any appeal for that transaction.

Oof. I can't even imagine the mindset of the deprived individual that would utilize that service.

Which is worse? Utilizing the casual encounters section or the missed connections hoping to find that women from the bread aisle you passed at the Weirton Walmart?

Hmm, I guess it would depend on which form of desperation you find more abhorrent. Desperate/perverted or Desperate/pathetic.DudeMan2766 wrote:Which is worse? Re: Rylan's Thread of Personal Committed Relationships
So I met a girl 2 weeks ago. She was my captain for our Beer Olympics team, yadda yadda yadda. Anyway, we were sitting there talking and she starts telling me how good of a guy I am, etc. Pretty much out of the blue. We talked for ~ 1/2 hour before going back to the drinking stuff, and I helped walk her back to her place when we were done. Found out a few days later she was in my physiology class, so I talk to her there and everything seemed to be good. Saw her later that day, still good.
Fast forward a day or two, I ask if she wants to grab lunch (via text) and get no response. I figured she was busy since it was finals week, no harm done. Text her again a few days later, still no response. Yet, she still talks and carries on conversations with me like nothing's wrong and she's still interested. Tried one last time today (since it was graduation and I'm leaving tomorrow or Tuesday) after having a conversation prior to me asking and again, no response. Not even a "No". Literally silence from her end.
I don't get it. I even added that I just wanted to see some people before I left Columbus, and she was on the list. No response. I even went as far to say "If you don't want to, just say no. It's not a big deal, I'll understand" but nope, no response.
Just doesn't make any sense. Curious to hear another viewpoint on this. I definitely think she likes me, but doesn't *like* me, and doesn't want to hurt my feelings (for lack of better terms/ideas) by saying no. All I know is, this is confusing as ****.

She likes you as a friend. Your second text made you seem needy. The last one made you seem desperate. You have no chance with her now and never will.

Yeah, I don't care for that third text.
How'd you procure her number in the first place...? Was the willingness/excitement level? What was the stated purpose?

Re: Rylan's Thread of Personal Committed Relationships
The third text was just a "**** it, don't care" situation. I'm leaving Columbus tomorrow. Likely not coming back for a while. I had already figured it was likely going nowhere before I even started. I just don't like getting 0 response. I prefer honesty over dodging. I figured maybe giving her the out would have generated a response. Still, it would have been maybe a week of something before I came back to Pittsburgh. If it was going to go anywhere, it wasn't going to go very far.
The 1st text was actually asking her what her schedule was the next day, not for lunch (my memory failed me there). The second text was more specific and a few days after the aforementioned day. I don't really see how that's "needy", but whatever.
I had the number prior to the party as a means of contacting her (since she was the captain), but she was the one who initiated the after-party texting (she texted me after our physiology class). She was rather excited to be talking to me when we were at the party, that's for sure. Not sure what else to say there.
I just think it's funny how there could be good conversation at one point, then sudden silence, then back to normal conversation as if nothing happened.
