Okay, so you make decisions during the game that affect what missions you do, how the story evolves, etc. At one point, you are given the opportunity to kill a certain character. I chose to let them go, and see how that played out. Just finished the campaign, and have been running around Kyrat doing things, and I read online that if you spare the characters, you can find them at certain places in the world. So I thought I'd seek this one out. Well, it took me ages to find my way to the camp they occupied. It wasn't particularly hard to get there, I was just dumb in how I was going about my attempts to get there. Finally got there, saw the character in the distance and began approaching. I got about 7-8 feet away from them..... and a goddamn wild dog pounced out of nowhere and killed them.
LOL I hate it when you rescue a prisoner and they immediately get mauled by a tiger.
Everyone goes on about the eagles..... eagles haven't been a problem for me; just stay under trees and you're good. But honey badgers....... goddamn honey badgers can suck it.
I'm going to replay the campaign making other decisions, just for kicks. Have you leveled up in the Shanath Arena at all? There's one particular signature weapon (the Bushman) that I want to get, but it's taking me forever to get to level 10. Was wondering if you had any tips.
It's a good comparison in terms of the impact of the "M" rating. The "M" rating does not stop 10-18 year olds from getting and playing the game (see: COD), so the impact will be minimal, and if anything will draw in more interest from hardcore gamers.
Ah, I thought you were referring to actual content in an M game drawing people in (like GTA with the open sanbox, do whatever you want to people idea or games that don't hold back on mature themes), rather than people buying it without paying attention to the M rating due to its popularity.
Or maybe it's just how I view the CoD series. I think it's fairly tame compared to some other M games.

Eagles haven't been too much of a problem for me. There was one time I walked up to a Sherpa to restock supplies, and the bastard swooped down and killed him.
I've only reached level 2 in the Arena just to unlock something. I dislike arena portions in any game, I don't know why.
The Buzzsaw is my favorite weapon in the game; I almost don't want to use any other weapon. It just destroys everything. I have fun mowing things down with it.

Yup. Pretty much this.
Most of my 8 year old's friends have been playing COD for 2-3 years...so the rating has little impact on parent's purchases, at least in my neck of the woods.
I found the other Batman games to be a bit dark for my kids, so they were a no-go for them (even though I got them all on a Humble Bundle deal for next to nothing).
Really hope down the line they have plans to do xb1/ps4 collections of games like Killzone, Uncharted, Gears, and the Batman Arkham games. I would definitely rebuy any of those in heartbeat. Would also be cool maybe to see a Rockstar collection with the older GTA games, Red Dead Revolver, and LA Noire.
The time has finally come that I need an external HDD for my Wii U. Rather than get one with external power, I'm just going to get a portable one and use Y cables to plug the USB back into the console.
My question is, does it matter if I go with one that has 5400 rpms (WD my passport) or 7200 rpms (touro)?
I can't see me needed more than a 500GB drive for wii u games. Any ideas?
If the games load from the external HDD into the Wii, and then are played from the Wii, the slower drive won't be much of a hindrance. If the game is played directly off the HDD, then definitely use/get the faster drive. (Actually, I'd get the faster drive, regardless.)
I'm guessing that it loads straight from the HDD. Even though it connects a 3.0 usb, I don't think it can actually utilize anything over a 2.0. I wonder if that would make the 7200rpm hdd pointless?
Also, does anyone see a disadvantage of using a y connector and both usb ports on the wii u instead of getting a hdd with an ac adapter.
The 1.0 version of Kerbal Space Program will add female Kerbals to the game. The first one will have a fixed name like Bill, Bob, and Jebediah: Valentina Kerman.
Named in honor of Valentina Tereshkova. I'm very happy about this because my grandmother was also named Valentina.
Usage expectancy for a PS3 controller? I am now only playing NHL14 and can get through a Be a GM season before needing to replace the controller. Thumb sticks stop working.
I know everyone probably already knows, but I'm really excited for MLB: The Show 15. I have a game save from my PS3 from MLB14 that I'm dying to continue playing on my PS4 in MLB15. I guess the only hiccup they really had is that players that retired in real life this season are replaced with stand-ins since they're no longer in the player association. Not bad though, legitimately excited for this. It's super rare for me to pre-order something.
Does anyone else experience the phenomenon where if you live with someone and are playing a video game, you can make it through all game play uninterupted but then a cutscene that can't be paused will come along and they'll decided to start talking to you?
Just finished the Great Bay temple in MM 3D. Seemed easier than I remember it being. As a bonus, unlike the GC Anniversary version, this one didn't freeze when I tried to enter the boss's lair.

NFS: Rivals can't be paused. It's like my wife will hear me fire the engine up and then come running to ask something mundane. I have to pull over and mute the TV. AGONY.

How often do you replace a controller?
I can't play PS3 games anymore because both of my Dual Shocks go haywire. Playing FIFA got to be so annoying; I'd be dribbling the ball, and all of a sudden my strategy would start changing on its own, like 4-5 times in as many seconds. Or on defense it would randomly change the player I was controlling, so I'd suddenly be slide tackling people 30 yds from the ball.

I have the same issue with watch TV shows... she always wants to talk during the show, then when commercials come on, she's silent. Luckily my game console is in the basement, so I'm rarely interrupted.

I had one PS3 controller start doing things on its own. Like, in a game menu or even the PS3 menu, the focus would go brbrbrbrbrbrbrbrbrbr up or down really quick. Also when playing a game, something would execute on its own. It was a faulty wire connector. Try moving that piece of metal around with the cable in. If that happens while wireless, then I have no clue. I bought a new one.
Downloaded my free reward today for wii u, got wonderful 101 and excitebike. Wonderful 101 is insanely fast game play, going to take a bit to get used to, but it's fun. If anyone ever wants to play smash bros or anything online (if I can ever get the controller from my kids), my user ID is eddysnake
Just finished up Majora's Mask 3D. While the majority of it was enjoyable, the Ghot and Gyorg Child rooms can kindly eat a !@#$. I'm pretty sure they modified these to be more annoying.

I really should have bought a new PS3 controller years ago. My left analog stick is so worn out, it tends to stick in one direction. This screwed me up in so many games.
I recently discovered both of my PS2 controllers are unusable. Not including the analog stick, the entire left side of one controller is dead. L1 and L2 don't work at all on the other controller. My PS2 was unstable anyway, so I can't play any of my old PS2 games unless I buy a new PS2 or buy HD remasters if possible.
