Tampa's win is one more reason to hope the Pens finish it off Saturday night. Lightning have a chance to end their series Sunday afternoon.

Yes. Very interesting that a player get a stick in the face and the play is blown dead. Did they think it was a puck that hit him?Humperdink wrote:Isles get hosed on a no-call at the end of regulation. Lose 1 minute into OT. Can't be feeling good about now.

Isles melting down in game 5. Matt Martin (no surprise) and Tavares misbehaving.

Tampa 8-2 in the playoffs. Granted, they haven't exactly faced two world-beating teams, but that's still impressive.
Hoping they get Stralman back soon and Stamkos makes an unexpectedly speedy recovery. That's a fun team to watch when they have a full lineup.

The Penguins are a #2 seed and have played a #4 and #1, Bolts are #6 and have played #8 and #5. Doesn't make much sense to me. They've looked pretty strong from what I've seen, Kucherov is scary. That team will give pens/caps a long series.

I guess if you are a Panthers fan that was some good karma seeing as how they tied up a game by getting a non-call last series.Humperdink wrote:Isles get hosed on a no-call at the end of regulation. Lose 1 minute into OT. Can't be feeling good about now.

Blues all tight at home in an elimination game. Down 3-0 to the stars. Elliott looks shaky. Just got pulled.

James Neal never played this hard for us. Looks like a completely different player

This far into the playoffs I don't think it's improper/bad luck to watch other series with the Pens in mind as a potential opponent. Absolutely, positively not taking Tampa for granted, as they're a formidable foe and may well vanquish the Penguins.
However.
If the Pens were to face St. Louis or Dallas, which one would be the more favorable match-up for Pittsburgh?

The camera angle in Dallas isn't the best, especially when every fan decides to stand up. You can't see a whole lot on the near boards

Dallas. Their scoring depth is nowhere near the Blues'. And their tending isn't as good.Durbano wrote:This far into the playoffs I don't think it's improper/bad luck to watch other series with the Pens in mind as a potential opponent. Wow. 5-0 end of 2. Blues will have home ice rest of way if they make Finals.

Why is Nashville in the west ?? Just saw they have traveled 17,000 miles in the playoffs. That's more then double the next team. Crazy...

Blues have home ice in the Stanley Cup finals if they advance. Have to root for the winner of tonight's game to advance past St. Louis, in case the Pens also make it through.

SJ just blew them off the ice from the start and really made the Preds look slow. SJ was hitting on all cylinders last night.

Re: Other Playoff Games 2016
Because they are further West than any other team in the east and they are in the central timezone. Their closest NHL cities are St. Louis, Chicago, also in the same time zone.KG wrote:Why is Nashville in the west ?? Just saw they have traveled 17,000 miles in the playoffs. They just happened to get a wild card in the Pacific so they were going to be logging a ton of miles. The alternative was not making them since they came in 5th in Central.
Or was this kind of all rhetorical?

Re: Other Playoff Games 2016
Blues up 2-1 late second period on a horrible goal. San Jose has had the better of the play. Wonder if the back-to-back 7-game series sapped St. Louis, notwithstanding their current lead.
