I thought that was from the last 120 release?Admin wrote:They screwed up their latest batch so it won't be out until early next year...thepittman wrote:Also 120 ipa is amazing.

I know there has been lots of interest in our120 Minute IPA... and lots of wondering where the heck it has been.
Our apologies for not getting the batches out on time - we are only 110 people and sometimes we get out-voted on a release date by millions of yeast cells - so this year's batches took some extra time.
This from our brewmaster Floris, "We are currently utilizing 2 different yeast strains that we believe will add complexity to this beer. We experienced some challenges with one of the strains (yeast growth and vitality) which set us back a bit from a production perspective which led to us not being able to release the last two batches on time."
The good news is that the current batch of 120 Minute IPA is through fermentation and is currently resting quite comfortably on a bed of hops.
It will be available for release in early August.
Thanks for your patience and persistence!
cheers, sam

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
So is that why it is now $120 a case or is it always that much?Admin wrote:The latest: http://www.dogfish.com/community/blogfi ... lt-120.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;JS wrote:http://www.dogfish.com/community/blogfi ... for-ya.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The good news is that the current batch of 120 Minute IPA is through fermentation and is currently resting quite comfortably on a bed of hops.

Yes it's always that much. That why they sell it by the bottle at a lot of beer stores.

Oh, no kidding slappy? I think that's Boonville? I saw a sampler w/ their Oatmeal Stout in it last night. Really like Oatmeal Stout and almost bought it because of that. May have to do so.

Yee they are in Boonville. The Oatmeal Stout is their most awardwinning beer. Its phenomenal. Expensive, around 45 a case for 24, but its fantastic.Kraftster wrote:Oh, no kidding slappy? I like it. It's got a strong finish... kind of an oaky/chocolaty/hoppy finish. Very interesting and good.columbia wrote:http://gearpatrol.com/blog/2010/10/11/g ... tra-stout/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;MWB wrote:I picked up Guinness Foreign Extra Stout and will be trying tonight. So the porter description (from the past) wasn't quite accurate? I like a porter occasionally, but usually can't drink more than one because of the sweetness.Back then it was known as West India Porter until the mid-19th century and was distinguished by its more intense flavor thanks to being brewed with extra hops.

Definitely not sweet. The chocolate I taste is more like a burnt or smokey chocolate, if that makes sense.

Coworker just gave me a 750 ml bottle of Corsendonk Pater. I am really looking forward to giving it a try -- good reviews and seems to be right in the range of beers that I really enjoy.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
I had a couple bottles of Corsedonk's xmas ale a couple years back. Was decent. Of the Belgian xmas ales I've tried, I much preferred Tremmens Noel. According to the waitress @ Sharpedge, they were the 2 most popular.
Finally got around to picking up a Sam Adams winter sampler. Trying out a Chocolate Bock right now. Not bad. Tastes like a Bock with somewhat of a cocoa aftertaste. I wouldn't buy a case of the stuff, but it's good enough to try.

New Belgium anything.
Anchor Steam - drank plenty of that yesterday.
FWIW - if you're in search of a good wine, try Pinot Evil's or Luna di Luna's pinot noir.
