Working on the Mothman Prophecies. Awesome book, more to it than just a "monster." I visited the old Army munitions dump a few years ago. Most of it was sealed off with what seemed to be 6+ feet of concrete. Still must be chemical weapons down there, who knows what kind of mutated crap is crawling around. The military looooved the rust belt for chemical weapon storage.

Re: Current book being read/just finished
The audio is pretty darn good I must say. I listen to a lot of audio books since I have a sub to audible. I hadn't heard the reader of these books before, and it was slightly awkward at first but he grew on me and now I really dig him. Also, it adds to the experience when you are shoveling snow while listening to john snow on the wall lol.eddysnake wrote:how is the audio form of these? I was thinking about going back and rereading them before I got to the 4th, but I have too many other books I want to get in to. I went back and read the chapter summaries at the tower of the hand which was pretty good, but did contemplate the audio.AlexPKeaton wrote:I'm re-reading the GRRM books in anticipation of the show in April. I'm halfway through book 2, in audio form.

Just about finished with the audiobook of Lord of the Rings. Has taken two weeks to get the destruction of the Ring.

When we went to Mardis Gras in 2002 the owner of the car we took demanded that we listen to the radio drama of The Hobbit followed by The Fellowship of the Ring on audio book. I wanted to kill something.tifosi77 wrote:Just about finished with the audiobook of Lord of the Rings. Has taken two weeks to get the destruction of the Ring.

Re: Current book being read/just finished
Game of thrones; now onto A Clash of Kings.
I paused the Dark Tower series-it's good but seems to be heading downhill. The Gunslinger is tremendous, the drawing of three is excellent, but they seem to be heading downhill....
Also finished Our Friends Beneath the Sands (I left off with two chapters left, didn't realize that), and am now on Terrible swift sword by Bruce Cotton.
Lastly, finished the Ruin of the Roman empire by James J. O'Donnell....
wew, I've been a busy beaver

haha, that's basically what his messages come down to. it can get to a ridiculous point of trying to follow what he's sayingLeopardLetang wrote:wild guy that guy. or at least i notice myself thinking that. and i'm watching myself noticing myself thinking that. amidoingitrite?Gonchar's #1 fan wrote:

heh. i know. i like him though. never read that book but parts of To Be Human. and then some literature on his website. my friend and i discussed him for a while and something got through to me which i still carry with me. it may not be what he necessarily was trying to get across, but thinking about his ideas was worthwhile.Gonchar's #1 fan wrote:haha, that's basically what his messages come down to. it can get to a ridiculous point of trying to follow what he's sayingLeopardLetang wrote:wild guy that guy. or at least i notice myself thinking that. and i'm watching myself noticing myself thinking that. amidoingitrite?Gonchar's #1 fan wrote:

Re: Current book being read/just finished
I've read a few of his other books, it's definantly interesting. I think this was one of his better books and it really gave me an interesting perspective but just like you said, it might not be what he wanted to get across but I still got something from it. If you're interested "Think on these Things" covers a lot of topics and is a pretty easy read compared to some of his other stuffLeopardLetang wrote:heh. i know. i like him though. never read that book but parts of To Be Human. and then some literature on his website. my friend and i discussed him for a while and something got through to me which i still carry with me. it may not be what he necessarily was trying to get across, but thinking about his ideas was worthwhile.Gonchar's #1 fan wrote:haha, that's basically what his messages come down to. it can get to a ridiculous point of trying to follow what he's sayingLeopardLetang wrote:wild guy that guy. or at least i notice myself thinking that. and i'm watching myself noticing myself thinking that. amidoingitrite?

Brit Lit and Young Adult Lit. only the first two are for Brit Lit. the rest are for YA. those ones should only take me a day or two each to read. i've read both Beowulf and Canturbury Tales in high school. so they're really just reviews/deeper reading.Troy Loney wrote:danisu21 wrote:things i will read this semester:
