Re: Non-Pirates Baseball Thread
I assume one more inning for Strasburg? He's at 81 pitches and supposedly won't go above 100.

They're saying he wont go above 90 on the MLBn. I'm guessing he's done now that he's in line for a win.

It would be so delicious if Jones got on and then Young 2 run homered again and they pulled strasburg. I don't want the kid to fail, but I want him to get beat because of the Nats cop out by starting him against the Pirates.

Wow... 14 K's in 7 innings of work. I'm sure we'll be told soon enough, but wonder where that ranks with debut strikeout performances.

I think they said it was 15.MWB wrote:Wow... 14 K's in 7 innings of work. I'm sure we'll be told soon enough, but wonder where that ranks with debut strikeout performances.
EDIT: Bob Feller struck out 15 in his MLB debut on July 19, 1936

ESPN is showing 14, but I'm not watching the game so that could be wrong.

Pitch count limits really suck. He could have gotten to 17 or 18 ks.

I know. Wish he pitched for the Rangers. I think Nolan Ryan has the right philosophy.

Strasburg has definitely attended the Crash Davis School of Media Relations. In his post-game with Kurkjian he put about 5 cliches in every sentence.

I seriously thought Milledge was gonna crap his pants after that first curve he saw from Strasburg. That dude is just straight filthy.

That was one of the greatest atmospheres for a baseball game I have ever attended. I had seats right next to the bullpen and watching him warm up was pretty sweet. From that close his stuff looked sick and I could see why the pirates couldn't touch his stuff except for rare occasions.

Ted Lilly has 8 no-hit innings so far. There were actually no hits in the game at all until the bottom of the seventh.

He has since said that there will be no announcement or anything. He doesn't want the team dealing with his potential retirement and it'll wait till November.SolidSnake wrote:
