Waiver wire was busy
Jordan Oesterle claimed by Nashville from Boston
Jakub Vrana claimed by Nashville from Washington
Christian Fischer claimed by Columbus from Detroit
Edit: Puljujärvi was the only one that cleared.

Florida makes another goalie trade. After Spencer Knight sent to Chicago, Florida has acquired both Vanecek and Kahkonen

Rakell, Schenn, Gryz and Beau should all be gone for a tidy sum!KG wrote: Thu Mar 06, 2025 2:59 pmBeauvillier, Gryz and Rakell all at practice today.

Some of the insiders saying that they now don’t expect the Isles to trade Brock Nelson. Wow. Isles are something. Lou acts like this crew won a bunch of cups together or something.

The lack of moves by Dubas is becoming really concerning.

There's still time, more moves will be made by KD.

The Rantanen situation is definitely holding up teams that may also be looking for someone like Rakell.

Plus Boston seems open to trading Marchant. Must be nice to not be hell bent on nostalgia.
Having said that, I haven’t seen much negative from KD thus far. The yinzers up in arms because they have zero patience is adding some much needed comedy to a **** season.

Spot on. The angst and delusion of some fans is incredible. Many following into the Dunning Kruger effect on how to run a hockey organization It’s laughable.Cow_Master66 wrote: Thu Mar 06, 2025 9:26 pmPlus Boston seems open to trading Marchant. Must be nice to not be hell bent on nostalgia.

My legit concerns at this point:Gunnerfan wrote: Thu Mar 06, 2025 9:35 pmSpot on. The angst and delusion of some fans is incredible. --Dumoulin, Desharnais, Schenn, Lindgren, de Haan, and Soucy have all been moved. They are all in the same value class as Grzelcyk. Grzelcyk has been in the rumor mill for 2 months. Why is he still here? While supply on those 3rd pairing guys is low, so may be destination teams.
--Beauvillier is in a completely different class than Rantanen. I say that because there is a lot of thought that Rantanen is holding up deals like Nelson or Rakell or Laughton, etc. Beauvillier isn't in that class. Like Grzelcyk, teams have been calling on him. Rantanen should have no impact on a guy like Beauvillier. Why hasn't he been moved?
Now, look at trades that have happened. The best "prospect" to be moved so far is Brendan Brisson. Former late 1st rounder. All the other prospects moved have been late round 5th, 6th, 7th...C-level or worse. More GMs may be taking the Brisebois approach...hand out picks like it is candy, but hold onto prospects and young guys like they are the King Size Kit Kats. And this will seriously hamper Dubas plan moving forward if that is the case.

Sounding like JJ Peterka as close to being traded to the NY Rangers. Rangers were interested in Henri Jokiharju, too, but not sure if both deals get done or if both are part of a potential deal.
Several media outlets reporting Buffalo and Rangers are in advanced talks regarding Peterka.

Re: 2024-2025 Season Random Penguins Fodder
On the flip side, the available crop of players is reduced, yet there's still a bunch of buyers..... With things falling apart with Rantanan, for example, a team could get desperate and overpay for RR. The point being, nobody knows what's going on behind closed doors, and those that are just pushing the panic button because there's been other moves is silly. It's almost like they think KD turned his phone off and went on vacation. KD is sitting on arguably the biggest chip available and isn't going to jump on something in a sellers market.FLPensFan wrote: Thu Mar 06, 2025 10:15 pmMy legit concerns at this point:Gunnerfan wrote: Thu Mar 06, 2025 9:35 pmSpot on. Obviously have to see how it plays out, but I feel pretty good about where things stand right now.

Re: 2024-2025 Season Random Penguins Fodder
I have to say so far, I am wildly disappointed in KD and how little he has done and how little that little was given the insane prices we KEEP seeing players being moved for. At this juncture, I can only say it seems like total and complete ineptitude to not be able to cash in on what is clear an insanely overpriced sellers market. Yet, I am totally and completely unsurprised.
