Seems to me you do alot of talking up for the Flyers, who are a big playoff disapointment every year.

Derian Hatcher No Cup

Mark Recchi No Cup

Tony Amonte No Cup

Turner Stevenson No Cup

Sami Kapanen No Cup

Peter Forsberg No Cup

Wow 4 of those 6 guys have won cups. Use better examples.

Yes they have won cups, but none of them have won a thing for the Flyers. At least we can say a member of that group was a cup winner with the PENS. The Flyers are to the playoffs what the Pens are to the regular season, and that is a joke. The point is the Pens have the payroll, and a good start on quality players to vastly improve in two or three years not the ten, you cite. The Flyers have had chance after chance to win a cup. Everyone knows that things run in cycles. We were a dominant team in the 90's. I also find it funny how you totally ignore the subject of the post, which is no matter how many "quality" additions have been added to the Flyers in an attempt to find the final piece of the puzzle, the Flyers have been a dismal playoff failure. Maybe it is because you know I speak the truth you ignore this simple fact.

It seems you guys have no problems being the worse team in the league year after year but hey you'll be good someday right. 2010 isn't that long to wait to make the playoffs. By that time all the youth you've aquired except for a few will have hit the road.
I'm not sure you could say we're bragging, but we sure are happy to see the additions that are being made to the team...we need that & our ego's aren't so big that we think we're 'marvelous'. And for those who laugh...whoever they are, then they don't see what the Pens have been forced to do, like other teams in the past, & that is rebuild from the ice up.
So some people smirk; so big deal. Let's just hope they don't find themselves in a similar position in the near future.

And while some understand what we're doing & are intelligent enough to see the bigger picture, there's one thing that stays the same. And has stayed the same for a lot of years. Everybody hates the Flyers.
Go to any message board of any other team in the league & that's blatant!
Please don't be dumb enough to mistake that as respect.

It must warm your heart to hold the title of most hated & not have anyone cheering for you to win the Stanley Cup.
Rather have everyone hate us than pity or laugh.
They laugh at the Flyers to. You can trust me on this.

Oh believe me when I say this; others laugh at you for constantly choking & always having to resort to goonery.

And I pity you for being the type of person who is proud to be hated.

Yeah, I've been hearing that for years. There is a way to build a team of youth and not be a laughing stock of the league for 4 years you know. The Flyers for example are set for the future, they have plenty of top prospects and young players making an impact and still are able to compete year after year.

You guys won't be making the playoffs next year neither. All those prospects haven't gotten you anywhere. Only here are there people bragging about getting top picks while the rest of the league laughs at your franchise.

All true. However the Flyers did go through a simular stretch not too long ago. They were the laughing stock of the league for 4 years and they did'nt even have to sell off their core players to get that bad. I am not making excuses for the Penguins poor management, but you have to admit that every team goes through it sooner or later.

The great thing about the Penguins poor management is how lucky they have been. I mean, the Pens managed to suck at a time when some awesome players are entering the league. An Eirc Johnson (I hope)/Ryan Whitney tandem could be the leagues best for many years. Crosby and Malkin have Gretzky/Messier potential. Fluery has no limits and with a new economic league wide structure. The Penguins could be pretty scary very soon.

Next season they will finish no higher than 20th place but the 07-08 season will likely be a playoff year. It will get only better from there.

I hope that the new GM is able to keep a steady flow of talent through the franchise like the Flyers have done since the remerged as a great NHL franchise. I know Bob Clarke takes some heat overthere but he has drafted and developed talent very well. If he traded better he would probably be the leagues best GM. I think he is in the top 10, but the level playing feild and cap will be a real test for him.

I honestly can't disagree with anything you've stated. However I will say whether you want to think it or not the Flyers have done a pretty good job of putting together a corps of young talented players.

I didn't mean to get into a pissing match with anybody. I'm past that. Sorry if I offended anyone.

Good post NIN. Like I said to Jamie, I didn't mean to start any hijinx. Until we can win a cup I should face reality and know we haven't done squat.

I will tell you this Flyer Nation, I am very inpressed with how the Flyers have rebounded in this series, I wrote them off for dead after game 2, as did alot of people. If they can get by Buffalo, and the next round it could happen for them this year. The one thing I see with the Sabres, is the lack of veteran leadership, and players with playoff experience. The Flyers have a good mix in this category, and it could turn out to be the difference in the series.

I do not "hate" the Flyers, however when someone starts to bad mouth my team I feel like the "big brother" that has to come to the rescue. All in all this series with the Sabres and Flyers has been one of the more enjoyable series I have watched in a long time.
