Going to a house party with friends. Probably make it until 10pm due to the kids (we all have young kids). Head home, put the kiddos in bed, and me and the mrs will probably watch the ball drop and then shut the tv off at 12:01.

Co-worker has a wedding to attend this evening.nocera wrote:This is my second NYE wedding in three years.bh wrote:I haven't heard of this trend. Seems pretty inconvenient. Bummer dude.nocera wrote:You need to add an option for "Attending a wedding."
I hate whoever started the trend of New Year's Eve weddings.
We aer going to a house party and staying over. No need to drive tonight. Too many amateurs and police stops out there.

Casino and dinner with friends, and then home by 8 or so to watch the end of the Pens game.
Taking a cab home.

I'm still debating how to get home. I wanted to go out downtown and/or the strip, so we could take a bus back to East Liberty. But it looks like I'm going to the South Side, and the 75's last run is around 12:30

Uber or Lift may be the best options tonight.pittsoccer33 wrote:I'm still debating how to get home. I wanted to go out downtown and/or the strip, so we could take a bus back to East Liberty. But it looks like I'm going to the South Side, and the 75's last run is around 12:30

I'm not really comfortable trying either, and I have a feeling it will be difficult to get a ride that way anyway. But what do I know.

From my experience, it'll be way harder to get a traditional cab.pittsoccer33 wrote:I'm not really comfortable trying either, and I have a feeling it will be difficult to get a ride that way anyway. But what do I know.

Use Lyft. Uber jacks up its' prices to ridiculous amounts on holidays.nocera wrote:Uber or Lift may be the best options tonight.pittsoccer33 wrote:I'm still debating how to get home. Spoiler:
Was that ever fully implemented?
Why did it fail? Lack of riders or unruly riders? Loss of sponsors?
I mean, you make that $5.00pp ride all night and I would expect it to be full.

Re: New Year's Plans? (Poll-related)
it was funded by some kind of grant money. I remember taking it to both the South Side and Station Square that year.
given the Port Authority's consitent money troubles they ended it once the grant cash dried up. probably a few reasons. #1 being that I bet the majority of it's ridership was students using their student id, so not paying additional money. #2 being the perception that if the Port Authority has to cut routes, it should be the drunk bus that goes, not the one that stops on a hill in Cheswick so granny can go to the Foodland in New Kensington.
