I had carpal tunnel really bad for a while. That's not even in the same galaxy as what you went through but not being able to play because of medical issues really sucks.
One amazing bassist largely retired from playing because of that. IMO, the best tapper, whether bass or guitar, I ever heard. Classical approach and no pointless notes, just lyrical and musical. He put out 4 CDs and an instructional video that are a marvel.

I'm partial to Stu Hamm and Victor Wootton. I had never heard of Adrian Davison before. Dude is legit lol!

Wow. Glad you are back and feeling better. Thanks for the warning. I currently take Nexium and have had mild infrequent occurrences of the symptoms you mentioned so I will ask my doctor about it at my next check up.
Anyone taking Nexium (which wonderfully healed my acid reflux) or any other PPI for longer periods of time should keep an eye on their B12. If your doctor refuses, press him or go to another one. Better safe than sorry.

Thanks.

BTW, I took my mom to see my new doc and to get her tested. Next visit we were told her's came out as just 242 and it's surprising she wasn't having neuro pains herself. It varies among people at which point it kicks in and starting with what symptom, though she was feeling fatigued for a while. The doctor started her on injections right then. She's taking weekly injections, just like I am. I was supposed to get it weekly for two months, then monthly for whoknowshowlongmaybeforever, but I'm still on weekly ones 4th month in because I don't want to just get a good level, due to the fact I am trying to fix what is said to be significant damage. After I'm good, I'll keep it at 1,000-1,500.

Everyone please read that article. It is very informative. It may affect you or someone you know, either now or later. You might not even realize it.

Wow, that sounds crazy horrible and scary.

It's crazy sometimes what medical professionals can't find. I know someone who had an absurd amount of kidney stones that was never caught despite many doctor visits, and it nearly killed him because his body was basically shutting down. He couldn't do anything at all. He moved out of state to be with his family, and went to the doctors there, and they immediately diagnosed it.

He lost an entire year of his life due to the multiple ailments that stemmed from the kidney stones.

I'd add to your list of possible complications vitamin D and magnesium deficiency, as well as increased susceptibility to stomach bugs and other nasties (since the normal stomach acid level normally helps kill those things). I'm no doctor, but I was on a PPI for over 5 years (when I probably should have quit after a couple months when my reflux subsided), and since getting off them I feel much better overall. The long-term effects of those drugs are woefully understated (or ignored).

Anyway, glad to hear you're feeling better.

If anyone needs quality B12, or any vitamin, this company sells all kinds at great prices. I love this website. Free shipping.

This is what I get in addition to the injections. These are methyl (active type) and sublingual, the best kind.
