Re: General discussion thread
In keeping with General discussion thread. Stonewall Jackson was considered the greatest GENERAL in the civil war. A tactical genius, Jackson won the Jack Adams trophy in 1862 and 1863. The latter posthumously. Some would argue Ulysess S. Grant was the greatest GENERAL. And all, he did win the Hart trophy in 1865. And let's not forget GENERAL George S. Patton during WW II. Patton was all offense, no defense. Awarded the Art Ross trophy after taking Messina.

You're joking, right? Jackson was shot by his own men. Chump.

Did you know there's a grave for Stonewall Jackson's arm?

I wish there was an 18 and up thread for political discussions, so it wouldn't be deleted.

Re: General discussion thread
Prior to his demise (as you accurately pointed out, by his own men), he was considered the best civil war general. The south was noted for having far superior generals across the board.dodint wrote:You're joking, right? Jackson was shot by his own men. Chump.

Re: General discussion thread
Right, but they played it all wrong. Had they fought in place, making the North come to them, they would've won by attrition. They wanted it quick and fast, though, and it cost them a country. A strategic blunder but that call was made above their pay grade.
