Why "can't" goalies play 82 games a season? We expect every other player on the team to.

Re: Canaan's thread of NPR chaos.
It's not so much a matter of "can't" perhaps as shouldn't. However, they play pretty much the entire game, save for delayed penalties and such whereas skaters will play maybe 1/3-1/2 depending on position and the team. Simply a matter of wearing down over the course of the season, I'd say.Physical_Graffiti wrote:Why "can't" goalies play 82 games a season? We expect every other player on the team to.

Though, imo, a goalie really only plays 1/2 the game (for argument's sake): The puck's in the other team's end for the other half of the game.

Because the flow of the game changes so quickly, a goalie has to stay sharp and concentrated at all times, even when the clock's not running. Extremely exhausting, I would imagine.

Samsonov not attending Isles camp. Agent claims interest from other teams. In his place, Jay Pandolfo will be there.

Pens were featured in 3 of the top 5 face-off moments (one was a 5 way tie).

I'm almost surprised nobody has signed Samsonov yet. I know he has a rep as a lazy player, but I thought some team lacking secondary scoring would try to sign him cheap.

Re: Canaan's thread of NPR chaos.
someone should be thrown in jail for how they ruined, "nhl on the fly". what a junky piece of crap that show has turned into.
just. show. the. freakin. highlights. with. the. original. broadcast. footage.
no one wants to hear some shrill chick doing c-grade sportscenter commentary. i think the nhl got some tool from ESPN to take over their media stuff last year, right? makes sense that they would then ruin the nhl version of sportscenter.

So if 71 & 87 don't play (again) this year, will the Pens still put their names on the cup?Physical_Graffiti wrote:We were just called the best team in the NHL on TH2N

Re: Canaan's thread of NPR chaos.
That depends on the difference in time and cost between putting their name on the cup and buying a souvenir Cup that already has their name on it at the CECcolumbia wrote:So if 71 & 87 don't play (again) this year, will the Pens still put their names on the cup?Physical_Graffiti wrote:We were just called the best team in the NHL on TH2N
