haha it was mainly from growing up. My cousin always rooted for the Braves and Chipper was his favorite player so I always rooted against them :scared: Now I'm ok with the Braves but I still don't care for him.

I just looked at the standings for the first time in about 3 weeks and was shocked to see that the Yankees are tied with the Rays in first.

The NL East is very close to having all of its teams at .500 or better. :pop:

Shields and Davis have been pretty putrid lately.

Do the braves have the best rotation in baseball? I'm a Braves fan and think so, but realize that I'm biased. Its gotta be them or the Rays though. I know Kawakami is 0-9, but he's actually not pitching that badly. Way better than 0-9. Medlen has come out of the Pen to do effing work as a starter. If they wanted to, they could keep him in there when Jurrjens comes back in a week and a half or so. Lowe, Hudson, Hanson, Jurrjens, Kawakami/Medlen. Do work braves.

I was asking a question? If I wanted to prove it, I'd point out how they're playing in the best division in baseball and are leading it. :pop:

Pretty good, but still some questions. Lowe hasn't been very good and Jurrjens is pretty questionable right now. TB is good, but Davis and Shields have both been awful lately. The Yanks are better with Vazquez pitching well, but I doubt Pettitte can keep up what he's doing. Red Sox are solid and will improve when Beckett returns. Darkhorse... Twins. Don't really have a good fifth starter, but Slowey has finally started pitching well to go with Baker and Liriano.

Vazquez will fall apart again, and Pettite might too. The Twins are pretty crazy good. They don't have any "wow" pitchers, but they all know what they're doing. I'll never give the Red Sox any credit, I hate them all. I expect Davis for the Rays to recover, he's a good pitcher.

Even if Davis doesn't recover they could bring up Hellickson.

Strasburg gets his 3rd start tonight, this one at home against the White Sox.

Manny returns to Boston for the first time.

Two of the three worst teams square off.

Should be a good night

What do you think the reception for Manny will be?

Completely mixed (and if I had to take a guess slightly more boos), there's a portion that will cheer him as much as possible for the 7 great seasons he had and being part of 2 titles. There's a significant chunk who despise him because of how he spent his last few weeks in Boston. And there seems to be another group who doesn't know how to act because there torn between the two. I'm interested to see how it ends up playing out but I really don't think there will be an overwhelming cheer or boo just a big mixture of both. The only way it would be noticeably more of one than the other, is if the FO plays some sort of tribute to Manny or something. The big beef seemed to be between Manny and the FO though I don't see that happening.

I'll be giving him a standing ovation from my couch he deserves it and I hope he gets it, but I doubt he will.

Thats debateable. I'd take Minnesota and LA over Boston. They each have bad teams in their division, but nothing compared to Baltimore.

Yeah, I was just talking based on record the top 3 teams are all there.

Overall the NL West should be brought in. They've got the same overall record as the NL East and more teams over .500 than any division.

Well when I made that original post about the NL East being the best, they're worst team was 2 games below.

No love for the Cardinals? Carpernter, Wainright, Garcia, Penny, and Suppan/Lohse. I'd take that pitching staff over anyone's in baseball.

Yeah, it's hard to argue with the Cards rotation. Garcia has been great and Penny has found himself once again.

Strasburg dealing again. The rate at which he's striking people out is pretty amazing.

Meh. Penny is overachieving. Loshe would be like the Pirates 4th best pitcher. Has Suppan even pitched this year? In any case, he isn't good. Aside from that, it all comes back to them playing in the NL Central, I won't give anyone playing in this division credit.
