Save money on "Save the dates" huge waste of money, huge. Invites 1-2 months before is quite enough. If someone can't get free with a month's notice they didn't want to come in the first place.mac5155 wrote:Haven't sent out save the dates or invites yet. Lol

Tried to convince BadHands to let me wear a Dumb & Dumber tux for the wedding. Didn't go so well.canaan wrote:mac, make it happen. we'll bring you a monetary gift of no less than $100.00USD....and promise not to dress up and harry and lloyd from dumb and dumber.eddysnake wrote:Could i be your +1? Well I told her that her mom was allowed 3 work friends + guests. But then my dad asked for 10 work friends + guests and offered to pay and I thought sure why not he's paying. It was my fault. So I redacted on my dad's offer. Now he's ticked at me. Oh well. I dont need them there anyway.

Still within budget with just under 3 months to go. I refuse to go over budget unless its a necessity.

Re: Wedding Planning Thread
My mom did the same thing. The only good thing about allowing the work friends is they usually pay off with cash in a good way... they were all sat at a "reject" table, they knew it, I didn't care because neither I nor my wife knew them. They did give us some nice cash though.mac5155 wrote:Well I told her that her mom was allowed 3 work friends + guests. Re: Wedding Planning Thread
why would a company make an engagement ring and not have a matching wedding band? Is this a common thing?
Also, for my band I'm looking for a tougher metal like tungsten or titanium with a little bit of bling in it. Anyone order their ring online somewhere that they liked?

Re: Wedding Planning Thread
I actually got lucky and got my ring at a place in the KOP mall that was going out of business. It has small diamonds inlaid in the band, so it does get the nice little bling factor to it. The last thing I wanted was a plain, yellow gold band.count2infinity wrote:why would a company make an engagement ring and not have a matching wedding band? Is this a common thing?

Re: Wedding Planning Thread
I was thinking about ceramic, but I like the metallic look. Tungsten Carbide is a possibility as it can look metallic. I really like the idea of a titanium ring with either some diamonds or an inlay of some sort. I found some river stone inlay titanium rings that look like something that would fit me pretty well (style, not size).

My fiancee's ring's wedding band was "discontinued".. so she's stuck looking for an "ok match"...count2infinity wrote:why would a company make an engagement ring and not have a matching wedding band? Is this a common thing?

They make camo rings.. I'm going for a black/dark grey looking one. Ceramic? Never heard of ceramic rings. Are they nice? I also need about a size 16.
