Re: ** 500 **
Yay. Thank you, rel.
I have all remaining trump + the QC.
We may lose a trick to the KC, but will take the rest and make 9.

Re: ** 500 **
So we would probably lose that trick, but still make 9.relantel wrote:I don't have the KC.
Original hand:
JOKER
JD
JH
KD
QD
9D
8D
7H
4H
7S
Widow:
QC
10S
4S
8C
9C
Ugh!
Final hand: keep all the Diamonds and the 8, 9, Q of Clubs.
I needed rel to have either the AC or the KC or for those both to fall on the same trick, which was unlikely.

Re: ** 500 **
Ah, so you lose to the KC on the 8C, and then take back with a trump, and then the QC takes the final trick. Had to think about it for a second.

Re: ** 500 **
maybe should have let rel play a card there. There is one scenario i can think of that would have given us a chance for the set. WK would need to have the KC and one more, but if rel had another ACE or led a club it wouldn't have mattered. I had the 10C, so if it came down to you leading the other club and WK being able to hold his king on that trick. No bid deal though.

Re: ** 500 **
I would have led either the K spades or K hearts, which red would have played trump as I didn't have any other Aces.

Yeah, I would have taken one with KC, and redwill had the rest.

Hmmm...
I thought I had the scenarios worked out. But Troy's right.
Damn, I'm stupid.
If rel's OK with it, we'll take the set if only to teach me a lesson.

Re: ** 500 **
No, just 2. I still hadn't played a card on that last trick. I would have played the JC, which left me with KC.

Your good redwill. WK would need one more club to have you set in the scenario i presented.redwill wrote:Hmmm...

Rel would have lead a king. you trump. lead the low club, WK then has to play the KC even though i'd be winning the trick.

Still, I should have let it play out a little longer to be sure. I thought it was ironclad and was trying to speed things along. Dumb. Lesson learned.

Yeah, you had me confused for a while. But yes, we wouldn't have known WK only had the KC left until we got there.redwill wrote:Still, I should have let it play out a little longer to be sure. I thought it was ironclad and was trying to speed things along. Dumb. Lesson learned.

It's that fine line between playing out the hand but not past the point where it is frivolous to do so.
