It's pretty nuts. Every day for the past 2 months I've done at least something for wedding planning.

ANyone ever been to Vegas? What are the good hotels there?
Honeymoon wise we are either gonna end up at Florida(Disney) or Vegas. Hawaii is just not in the budget.

That was the easy part for us. 300k frequent flier miles go a long way. 10 days in Kona, Hawaii, oceanfront Hilton, rental car. Then fly to Sydney for 2 weeks. (I have to work in Sydney those two weeks and it makes no sense to come home from Hawaii only to turn directly around to fly 30 more hours.). Emptied my mileage account, and work pays for my flight to Oz and our hotel there. Biz/1st class all the way. Yeah, we're excited. My part of planning other things was pretty easy due to her taking control. Yes Dear is my go to. Trying to figure out why women stress themselves so much over this and why people spend so much loot on these things. Eloping has been a thought throughout the process. Screw making everyone else happy. It gets old seeing people get so stressed about making others happy in the process.mac5155 wrote:I am making picking a honeymoon destination the hardest decision of my life.

I guess I'll be sleeping on the couch for a bit after that.

I guess thats the thing. i dont care if the foods bad (while i hope it would be good).. I dont care if the beer isnt what everyone likes. I do care that I spend $4,000 in 1 week I get the best vacation of my life.OutofFoil wrote:That was the easy part for us. 300k frequent flier miles go a long way. 10 days in Kona, Hawaii, oceanfront Hilton, rental car. Fiancee wants to go to couples barbados but the flights in and out are at odd times and would require overnight layovers.
I think were going to try for Iberostar Grand Hotel Bavaro in Punta Cana

Question to all that bought their own alcohol and own bartenders, did you purchase any liability insurance? We have hotel rooms but all it takes is one idiot.

talk to the place you're having your reception. most (when bringing your own alcohol and bartenders) require you to purchase insurance.mac5155 wrote:Question to all that bought their own alcohol and own bartenders, did you purchase any liability insurance? They could provide the bartender if needed for a fee, I just figured I'd rather pay a friend than a stranger

Re: Wedding Planning Thread
that's the issue... most bartenders have their own insurance through whatever company they work for or through. your buddy likely doesn't, and if he doesn't then you need to purchase the insurance. I would check with the place you're having your reception, but like I said, most require that you have to have insurance (usually up to some freakishly high amount like 1 million dollars or something like that). You may be better off just paying a fee for them to get a bartender for you.
bought my ring last night. $25. It's a cobalt, beveled edge with a brushed finish. I like it for 3 reasons. 1 the look, 2 the price, and 3 it's my fiancee's favorite element (yes, we're both chemistry nerds)
