Hmm. Ozymandias - the statue of its king part might lend credence to the ideas that somebody else steals walt's thunder as the infamous Heisenberg and he doesn't like that.

Felina - probably a double meaning, both the Dead song and the "Blood Meth and Tears". Smart call by you guys. And i wouldn't put that past Vince Gilligan. Though i don't agree with the idea that walt is coming back to save Skylar

Ozymamdias is Alexander the Great and also a key character in Watchmen. Pretty sure it can only allude to Walt.

No wait, Ozymandias is Ramses II... and Felina maybe Isis?

Episode 516 “Felina” - Interesting theory I could find on this one is that if you break out the elemental symbols here -- Fe Li Na -- its Iron, Lithium & Sodium. You could interpret this as essentially 'Blood Meth (lithium is an ingredient in Jesse's pseudo cook) Tears'.
This is really weird, and I have no idea where I remember this from, but I thought I recall reading somewhere that they had licensed the song El Paso for use in this final season. This might be a spoiler, if my bizarre memory is correct so...
Spoiler:
This is where my hours spent listening to Grateful Dead tapes in high school and college might be (minimally) useful. The song is set in the Old West about a guy who falls in love with a Mexican girl, Felina, in El Paso, gets chased out of town by rival cowboys/bandits, but returns to try to fight his way through to her, even though he knows it's likely to result in his death. He rides back into town ready to fight, but is gunned down.

In Breaking Bad terms, maybe Walt leaves, but Skylar is somehow held hostage; he thinks he is free and clear and can live without her, but then can't help himself and goes back for her, even though it likely means he'll get killed.
:thumb:

I find it doubtful that, at this point, Walt would leave without the kids & Skylar. My guess is, if he's back to protect someone, its to clean up his own mess... Hank. He put a hit out on Hank and is back to end it with Jack.

In this case, i believe its in reference to the Shelly poem, not the King. The poem was written in reference to the statue of Ramesses in Egypt and its surrounding ruin, but is used frequently in literature and film to exemplify hubris as a driver for building and empire as well as the driver for fallen empires.

Walt's greatness was his ability to be incredible well known, feared, and respected as Heisenberg ("Say my name") while maintaining his life as Walter White, father, school teacher, and cancer survivor. My perspective on the poem:
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
Think about that, and this, as Walt is forced to come back and see the ruin a year later:

Image

His network is collapsing as Jack and his thugs are closing in on what Heisenberg created, and he is forced to run and hide now that Hank is closing in on what Walter White was able to maintain.

Well, he got him where he really lives, in his money. It was always about money for Walt. Yeah sure, it was for his family, but it was about money. I enjoyed his phone call to Walt. Thought it was well done.

Jesse' plan not as elegant as I thought, but this thing is escalating to an extreme. Maybe that's what's great about it. Simplicity... Still only 3 people not named Walter that know the money is there, and they are likely dead..

we're being made to believe that he called todd to have him and the nazis whack jesse. i don't think this is a misdirection. but todd and the nazis are probably already being traced to some extent by hank/gomez, so if this ends up in some giant two-way massacre with hank full of bullet holes, i wouldn't be surprised.
almost nailed it

...the second he called to cancel the nazis was when my stomach sank. i knew that was it for hank.

Definitely makes sense, I just liked some of the theories being thrown around in here. Agree, that phone call was great. The whole episode was pretty intense.

I think Jesse makes it out of that, somehow. Walt and Jesse, together again, until the end?

i think jesse lives, too. but there's no hope for the DEA crew.

so now...hank's done, marie won't keep this quiet, walt's gonna be pissed at the nazis, he's gonna run because of them and marie's wistleblowing, they're gonna do something unsavory to his family or jesse, he buys an M60, comes back to new mexico for a rescue and a showdown, he takes the ricin to kill himself, someone lives...not sure who.

i think part of this was to spare us a grizzly death scene for hank. i bet the following episode begins with him already dead.

The phone call in the scenes from next week... What if it's for Hank from Marie? Didn't listen too carefully, but he definitely told Marie he might be a while when they spoke... Couple days later?

I had a feeling that the Nazis were going to show up. When Hank made that call to Marie, I knew he was almost certainly dead.

Pretty sure it was skylar. I thought she said "we" are waiting for you.

Will Marie have any evidence to back up claims about Walt? Seems that everything against Walt dies with hank and the other DEA guy.

The foreshadowing was thick in that episode. But it totally worked. Gilligan must have known that the audience was going to be onto his scent, so he just went full blast. Walt's loving glance over at his family right before everything went to hell was the first sign of a storm

I wonder if there is more to Todd's crush on Lydia. It's as if she's being presented as Todd's weakness and maybe this will be his (and the Nazis) eventual downfall (because he's unable to get rid of her?)?
