The Mondays are cured by excessive drinking?

Mondays are cured by an intense workout to burn off all the food and booze from the weekend.
A friend of mine once owned a gym. His wife called them Guilty Mondays because of all the people that come in on Mondays trying to work of weekend guilt.

Yep, monday is always the crowded day at the gym. i think my friday workout would be my "guilt" workout, i do it in advance of all the eating and drinking.

You may be on to something there. Friday afternoons are some of the busiest times at my gym.

Anyone ever been to Cadillac Ranch at Settler's Ridge? I checked out their menu online, and it looked decent. However, I read some reviews and most people just trashed the place.

i wasn't impressed with it. although, i went a little after it first opened. and it was karaoke night. but the food wasn't the best i've ever had. it may have gotten better since i've been, though.

Emiliano's on McKnight was really good. Good prices as well.

Excellent Mexican food. First Mexican place I have been to in Pittsburgh where I had a Mexican waitress...

El Campesino has all Mexican waiters, at least the one in McMurray does. If you like Mexican food, I suggest trying them out. In addition to the McMurray location, there are ones in Monroeville, Robinson, and on McNight Road.

I went to Damon's in Canonsburg on Friday. Growing up as a kid (especially in high school), I loved Damon's. Nowadays, I think that their food has gone way down-hill.

El Campesino is hit or miss for me. One time I'll go there and it will be spectacular. Then the next time, it will be weak.

Every time I've been to Emiliano's, I've gotten the Emeliano's Fajitas, and they are awesome. It's been a LONG time since I've been there, unfortunately.

Yeah we went to it on accident. My wife swore she saw a Don Pablo's up there in McIntyre Square. I told her there was no way a Don Pablo's was up there. So when we were just literally driving by the place I was going to show her it was not. Guess what... I was right. But we stopped and ate and were very happy with the place.

Haven't tried Emiliano's, will have to soon. El Campesino is good, but I like Patron up in Wexford the best. I've yet to try anything else on the menu because the taquitos are so amazing and I can't go there and not order them.

And PBP, I believe Don Pablo's use to be in MC Sq years ago. (Not 100% sure)

RJ,

Yeah I am fairly certain the building Emiliano's is in used to be a Don Pablo's. I was just giving my wife a hard time because it has been closed for a good while.

I was just there this past Saturday. I didn't eat because the kitchen was closed, just got a couple drinks. I, too, read the reviews before I went and almost everybody said the service was horrible. That wasn't my experience. The first waitress checked on us a bunch of times, and after she left, the second one did, as well. Very friendly, too.

Now, this restaurant has a bar-like atmosphere. Dance floor, like 3 bars, mechanical bull, loud music. The one person I went with said the music is loud all day, not just at night; you can't hear the people you're with and you have to yell to talk. So, if you're looking for a nice dinner out, I wouldn't choose them. I'd say if you are going there, you're going for atmosphere.

Here's a good one, speaking of Mexican restaurants...myself and some co-workers were at Calico Jack's Cantina for lunch the other day. There were about 10 people in the restaurant, 3 of us, and a party of a husband, wife, a grandfather who was on an oxygen tank, and 3 or 4 bratty kids who kept running around what is essentially a bar/nightclub.

The service was slow, admittedly, but having worked in restaurants, I'm the last one to complain unless the service is bad, which it wasn't here. Meanwhile, at the other table, these kids are running amok, grandpa keeps getting up and toting his oxygen tank to the bar to chew out the 'tenders about the food not arriving yet. We're within earshot, the yuppie parents and this old coot keep loudly *****ing about everything. We enjoy the meal and finish at about the same time. Then, we hear a shouting match erupt across the section. The mother is screaming and hollering at the server about the bill, saying that since the kids didn't touch their side orders of fries, they shouldn't be charged for them. Meanwhile, grandpa and the wife are spouting about how they're from Nashville and "restaurants down there don't charge you for what you don't eat." The poor server is frazzled, and she runs to get the manager, while grandpa pats the daughter on the leg and says "that's my girl." The manager, probably sick of the scene being caused, whacks the $8 in question off their bill, and the old coot, yuppie couple and their bratty kids leave happy.

People disgust me sometimes. If you can't afford the $8, don't walk around dressed like you're a country club member and most importantly, don't have 4 friggin kids!

Sorry for the [/rant]

Yeah, that is pretty bad. It's a shame that there are people out there so cheap that they will embarrass themselves at any eating establishment just to get some sort of discount.

I have a coupon for a free entree at any big burrito place except umi (up to $30)...i was going to try 11 unless someone suggests otherwise.

ps. sign up for the big burrito mailing list and they'll send you this same coupon on your b-day.

Never been there, but I hear rave reviews about it. The higher-ups at my place of employment (a higher-education institution in Oakland not named Pitt) go there often when hosting events / dinners, so it must be pretty swanky.
