Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
I really thought there was no way HBK/Taker II would live up to the hype, and they blew me away again. That match was unbelievable. I don't really know what else to say about it besides that.
The two title matches were very good. I was really surprised how decent the Cena/Bastista match was. Huge props to Cena for posing with the Cena haters......that was freaking hilarious.
Hart/McMahon was atrocious. No other way to put it. Glad we finally got to see the Sharpshooter on Vince, but did we need 10+ minutes of Vince getting hit with a fake crowbar and a chair? Put those extra minutes in Punk/Mysterio. That match was decent, but wayyyyy too short.
Triple H/Sheamus was forgettable as expected.
MITB was OK, about as expected with too many guys booked in the match. I was surprised Swagger won, but cool with it. Hilarious how long it took him to get that briefcase off the hook though.
I thought the Legacy match was solid.......loved Orton bringing back the Orton pose afterward.
ShoMiz vs. Truth and Morrison. 4 minutes? Really?
Overall, solid, solid WrestleMania. Started out really slow but the main events saved the show completely.
Also, that crowd was terrible.

I liked how Michael described it too. "HBK, defiant till the end."

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
That was the only good call he made all night. I truly hate him. I read an article that made a statement I totally agree with, and that is that with Jim Ross announcing Taker/HBK II is another 5-star match. With Cole announcing it was 4 1/4.........he just brings no emotion or drama to it like JR does.SolidSnake wrote:I liked how Michael described it too. "HBK, defiant till the end."

Agreed........I was 100% rooting for HBK in that match. If you're going to go down though, that's a hell of a way to go. Obviously though we're all acting like he's not going to have another match in like 6 months.Kicksave wrote:I still wish HBK could have went out on top.

I know Bret had a stroke and is in his 50's and McMahon has no business in a match but damn did that one disappoint given the hype

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
Oh it was absolutely horrible. The bringing out of the entire Hart family was ridiculous, then to make it even more ridiculous we have a double-cross on top of a double-cross before the match even starts. Then we get to see Bret hit Vince with a fake crowbar and a chair for 15 minutes. I honestly feel like Bret really tarnished some of his legacy with that match. The crowd was not into it whatsoever either, and you sure can't blame them for that one. Horrible job by WWE dropping the ball on that angle. Why Not Us wrote:I know Bret had a stroke and is in his 50's and McMahon has no business in a match but damn did that one disappoint given the hype

I expected to hear nothing about this fight. Two old guys wrestling does not make a good match.steve784 wrote:Oh it was absolutely horrible. Dear HBK,
Retirement is great. You deserve some time away from the ring.
Sincerely,
Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Jimmy Snuka, Mick Foley, and Terry Funk

He's proven time and time again over the last couple years that he's easily still the best big-match worker in the WWE, probably pro-wrestling.

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
I don't think you'll see HBK come back just out of respect to the Taker as the one who beat him to finish his career. If a guy loses a retirement match I couldn't think of a better wrestler to lose it too.

Million dollar man, IRS, Ricky Steamboat, Sarge Slaughter, Roddy Piper, Arn Anderson, Tony Garea
IRS could pass as Joe Benenatti

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
Ugh, why do we have to deal with guys like Flair and Hogan who are well beyond their years but guys like HBK retire? Seriously.
