Re: Current book being read/just finished
I'm reading David Foster Wallace's posthumously published, partially-finished The Pale King. I read his Broom of the System a couple years ago and didn't really like it, but I read The Infinite Jest last fall/winter and have really gotten hooked on his writing. I usually don't like the more post-modernish writers, so this is somewhat unusual for me.

Re: Current book being read/just finished
Finished All the Pretty Horses last week...originally thought i was going to read the trilogy straight through, but changed my mind. Grady is quite the Man's Man, a little too over the top at times.
This weekend I read a play for the first time since college, went with Ibsen's Doll House. very interesting, i wanted to wiki it to get a bit of a better understanding of the context, but apparantly wiki is blocked again on my work network....
Started Crime and Punishment yesterday, about 60 pages in and am anxious to get back at it.

Finished the Mysteries of Pittsburgh this weekend. Seemed overly descriptive. It was his first novel so my guess is he went a bit overboard. It was nice reading a novel where I knew all the settings though.

That worked. I feel like i've not consumed enough of that american frontier culture to completely understand what mccarthy is doing.

Started reading the "Saxon Stories" by Bernard Cornwell. Excellent series so far.
