My dad got his car stuck when he tried to drive through about 2 feet is ice and snow the state plowed in overnight. He certainly would think of shoveling out the end of the driveway first. No, he decided to ram it with his Hyundai and push through. That didn't work and was stranded with about 3/4 of his car in my driveway 1/4 on the road.

As a result, I wake up to him screaming at me to help him get out of the driveway. I brushed the snow off my Wrangler while I tried to wake up, put it in 4wd, drove out the other end of the drive, hooked us up via a tow rope and had him out in 2 seconds. It sure is nice having 4wd when you live in the country. And when you have a doofus for a father. ;)

I love Thai... can't get past the fact that Indian places smell like farts.

There were three or four in particular. Two of which were also involved with the PDT getting nuked, but only one of them is gone.

The reason why it's a 'thing' is the person who coined the phrase is one of the common denominators.

there are plenty of top notch chinese places in america. there just happen to be a lot more of crappy ones that bring down the average.

thai food is more reliable than the others you mentioned, but the best thai food isn't as good as the best indian or chinese.

You're right, it's our collective fault that someone acts like this:

How do you know he is gone? Maybe he's just taking a break from posting? Hasn't he done that from time to time?

My typical Chinese order goes something like 1 entree for myself and the mrs, lomein, mu shi veggies, extra white rice, and a pupu platter.
My 8 year olds and soon to be three year old eat white rice and the beef&chicken on a stick from the pupu platter.
The twins didn't become fussy eaters until about the age of 3.

I'm willing to bet a fairly substantial sum of money that 99% of the people who opine on this topic have never had anything but delivery Thai and Chinese, and delivery or buffet Indian.

I've been getting food from this place somewhat reguarlarly. Taiwanese, so I guess that is technically chinese. I've tried a couple of things, but the Dan Dan Noodle is the only thing that i'll order more than once.

It's hard to find a place that makes chow fun noodles. They are one inch square rice noodles.

My perspective is this, Lo Mein was always my favorite dish from a chinese place, but now that i've had pad see ew and Lo Mein, why would I ever get lo mein again.

If i'm pining for a meat and rice dish, i'd take green curry or tiki masala over the best general tso's or hunan beef i ever recall having.

i don't buy the idea that this place will fall apart, regardless of whether or not people like EPP and godric are around to piss all over the place. maybe the PDT is an exception, but that's already been addressed. those two clearly don't belong in this community, since they clearly enjoy trying to ruin it.
