If you check them out, listen to Promenade first.
They opened for NIN/JA when the tour came through Pittsburgh. Being that I had misread the start time, I missed them and the first few NIN songs :( Heard nothing but good things from a few friends who did catch them.

Went running this morning to Curve.

I'm really enjoying Yim Yames (of My Morning Jacket) Tribute To, an EP of George Harrison songs recorded shortly after Harrison's death in 2001. Good stuff.

Also, Modest Mouse's new EP is a nice change of pace (for me). Can't wait for their next album.

Honestly, I didn't even need to click the link to know that it was brokencyde...

Here are my thoughts on Brokencyde...it's awful, terrible music, yet I somehow find myself listening to it, like I'm trying to crack the DaVinci Code. I recognize how awful it is but I want to know WHY. Why does it exist? Why do people seriously listen to it? Why is there a guy in a pig costume? Why do they scream at vaginas? Etc, etc, etc. And this goes on until I come out of my daze and realize that I just listened to "Freaxxx" for 20 minutes. Then I promptly vomit on myself and pass out in my chair.

Prefab Sprout's new album will be released on Friday. Their first since 2001, although the material was originally recorded in 1993. Most of you have probably never heard of Prefab Sprout (not many people outside the UK have, I'm afraid), but they are my all-time favorite band (they actually ceased to be a "band" a long time ago and basically consist of the incredibly talented Paddy McAloon) and Friday will be a big, big day for me.

I have to be honest with you, I reacted just like everyone else did when the guy first came on stage. The faces are priceless. He is fantastic and will probably be a country music star regardless of how the show turns out.

The new Clutch isn't bad, but I prefer the early stuff. Saw them in the mid 90s in a small club in VA and thought they'd be a one hit wonder. I had to do a double-take when I heard 10001001 or whatever it was a few years ago.

check out the letterman video of 1901 on youtube. the drummer is a session drummer, not an actual member of the band, but is so fun to watch!

I had never heard them before but watching a few of their videos on YouTube, I'm thinking they're definitely something I'd like a lot. They have a few albums, which one would you (or anyone else who likes them) suggest I start with?
