Re: Movie
I can't believe they are going to do a re-make of "The Karate Kid". For those of you who haven't seen the previews, it involves Will Smith's son moving to China and being mentored by Jackie Chan. I dont see how this can top Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita.

Re: Movie
I watched (500) Days of Summer last night. I thought it was one of the best movies I've seen all year. It has one of the best star wars moments since the actualy star wars movies came out, absolutely hilar! Definately one of the best romantic comedies, up there with Love Actually and About a boy for me...

You know, this doesn't look so awful.
Then again, I've never understood why people get so bent out of shape about remakes.

Re: Movie
I watched the Wrestler with Mickey Rourke and Marisa Tomei and thought it was excellent. It's a very psychological movie. Rourke played the broken down man to perfection. You can hear him breathe and moan throughout the whole movie like he is in constant pain from all the fighting he's done. The comradeship between wrestlers is displayed as well. I don't know who directed it, but the overall mood of the movie was captured really well. I felt sorry for the main character.
Again, big respect to Rourke for the acting.

Re: Movie
I agree. It's a great movie. It was directed by Darren Aronofsky, the same fellow who did Requiem for a Dream and The Fountain. As a wrestling fan, I really dug how they used real independent wrestling promotions and even shot the Combat Zone Wrestling match at the old ECW Arena.Sarcastic wrote:I watched the Wrestler with Mickey Rourke and Marisa Tomei and thought it was excellent. Re: Movie
I just finished reading the book and can't wait for the movie. From what I can see from the preview, they are holding pretty true to the book, which can only mean good things, IMOthehockeyguru wrote:In holding out for the newest Martin Scorsese film, Shutter Island. Should be out sometime in Feb. DiCaprio doesnt get enough credit for being a good actor.

Re: Movie
I have no idea how district 9 was made for $30 mil. The cgi in it is amazing. The story in it was very well done, too. Really good movie.
i saw 9 last night. The animated one with the ragdolls. I thought it was pretty good, too. Very pretty movie. Pretty basic plot, though.
