I'm trying to figure out what became so interesting after WK tallied the killing vote on columbia @ 9:55 last night.
I don't think it prevented an escape to a dream level, because that would have been infinitely more interesting than a standard kill and normal night phase.

You may be trying to read too much into that comment. I really think Doc was just trying to figure out how to reconcile the vote and day action occurring simultaneously.
