Mega Shark Versus Giant Octopus

Available via streaming on Netflix. Deborah Gibson (yes, Debbie Gibson!) and Lorenzo Lamas are pure gold.

Ok, so I finally watced Paranormal Activity. Another JUNK Blair-Witch movie. I will admit it was alright until the "theatrical ending." Why put an ending out like that... as if to say, well we couldn't figure out how to end it, so let's tick the audience off with our lack of creativity... These kinds of endings make the entire movie junk to me. Let's not even discuss the crapola alternative ending.

After many of the posts mentioning Session 9... it's now my #1 in netflix... watched the trailer, def looks kickbutt. Funny I don't even remember seeing a single trailer for it in 2000/2001. Should be in sometime this week after my current movie: The Terminal. love Tom Hanks in the movie. :)

so...a friend of my fiance came over yesterday, and usually when they get together they like to put in an old disney movie and reminisce while they hang out. her friend mentions this random cartoon movie from the 80's...The Last Unicorn. after a few beverages i walk into the living room. that is a weird friggin movie. we spent the duration of it marveling at how stoned the people who made it must have been. and if you're one of those "i get stoned and watch crazy movies" people, this one is probably right up your ally. weird, weird charcoal, man.

Netflix has been stalled by just being too damn busy. Jacob's Ladder is #2 on the queue, looking forward to that one.

Was happy to catch The Jacket on TV yesterday. Very good movie, I actually went to buy it on Blu-Ray, but, found there to be no BR version. I did order the Machinist on BR for $12.99 ftw.

Nice, those are both on my to-see list.

Finally watched Being There last night. Great movie -- Peter Sellers is incredible in it.

Excellent movie
Spoiler:
At the end when he walked on water, what did you make of it? I don't think there is a definitive answer that the director intended, and that's what makes that scene so great, there are so many ways that it can change the movie. I haven'te seen it in a while, but I think my first thought was relating it to Jesus and he was from an entirely different place, almost like an angel, but the more I thought about it, I didn't know if he was just a lucky guy... what did you think?

Spoiler:
Yeah, I agree, the ambiguity is what makes it a great scene. The lucky angle certainly could work. I mean, the guy's name is "Chance" after all. Going along with that there's the thing is that he didn't know any better, as in he didn't know he wasn't capable of doing that. He manages to be next line for the presidency through luck, but mainly because he isn't even trying--it's chance and he doesn't know he can't.

For me though, I like the more "other-wordly" interpretation. I think that's why they choose to use the "Life is a state of mind" line as you're experiencing that surreal moment. Chance could a metaphor for life. As he says, "I like to watch." He's a blank slate.. every character that meets him sees him how they want to. Ben sees him as a knowledgeable businessman-- Eve sees him as a tender, caring lover-- The President sees him as an intelligent advisor (even a superior intellect)-- The Russian ambassador sees him as a foreign expert-- Heck, even the gay waiter he meets sees him as another gay man. So it takes the "Life is a state of mind" quote to a whole new meaning. He can be a business man, a lover, he can become the president, and the kicker: he can even walk on water... I think that scene with the quote could be saying that life is capable of anything--life, the state of mind, is whatever we want it be.
...my long-winded two cents :P

I enjoyed it, I need to watch it again though, because I'm not sure the whole time travel timing made sense to me. I think what made it even more awesome was it had Tack from Stoned Age in it!

Saw Daybreakers today. I wasn't expecting much and that's exactly what I got.

I did like seeing a movie where the sun burned vampires instead of turning them into sparkling hotties.

Watched Inglourious Basterds over the weekend. Liked it. Struck me as Tarantino dialing his shock down a notch and dialing up the story development up a notch. I'm a huge fan of his, and think what he does with tension is just unparalleled, so the extra length of some of the scenes didn't bug me.

Rob Zombie's Halloween II. Stunk. One thing that I missed was the Halloween music. None of the people that watched the movie at my place could remember the music being played anywhere but at the beginning and end. I know Zombie likes to portray his characters as ditball hillbillies or just generally mental, but this movie was def his worst yet. Portraying Michael Myers as a human(the hitchhiker with the beard who eats raw dog meat -- not sure if that qualifies as a spoiler, I don't see how) was sort of dumb to me. I just want to see more slash. I'm hoping he goes back towards House of 1000 Corpses/Devil's Rejects brand.

Another movie we watched was The Haunting of Winchester House. I would say until the very last couple scenes the movie was very craptastic. The acting is very laughable, I could do better for sure. The story was good I guess. The last couple scenes actually make you appreciate the story much much more. If you are tolerable to crappy acting, this movie is solid.

Is this about the actual Winchester Mystery House??? Because if so, that's super awesome, even if it's got crappy acting.

I watched the Hurt Locker, what an intense movie, I have no idea how someone could dismantle bombs, let alone doing it in Iraq during war. The main character was amazing, I'd be really surprised if he didn't get nominated for best actor.

Watched It's complicated, I thought it was funny, harmless chick flick and Hollywood actually did a drug scene that was believable!

Watched Up in the Air, definitely one of the best I've seen all year, smart and original, you don't see that too often in movies as of lately

Che is shipping today, looking forward to that.
