I don't read the TV thread here....I assumed it was always like that. :)nocera wrote:newarenanow wrote:I actually think the kid that plays Carl is growing into his character and hasn't been that bad this season.
He hasn't. For some reason, the board is unfairly harsh on this show.

Was a setup really necessary?

This ep could have been cut down to about 5 minutes plot wise, but I did enjoy seeing the parallels between the Gov's side and Rick's side.
Andrea continues to amaze me with her stupidity.

watched Talking Dead tonight. shocked that the actress that plays Maggie has a native English accent, and doesn't look anything like her character. Good acting, I guess.

Re: Walking Dead - Season 3
haha, I love hearing LGP complain after every episode
"I dont care about any of the characters, the writing is horrible"
...character building, plot building episode...
"this sucks, kill more people and zombies is boring"
Is it the same people complaining each time or is it two competing sides complaining when the other side gets what it wants?

1 person complained.
I think there's more complaining about people complaining about the show than actual people complaining about the show.

I agree that the whole episode was kind of a setup. I consider that past two episodes subpar. But it's like watching a movie, sometimes the middle is slow before you get a killer ending. Not every episode is going to be a thriller.

Re: Walking Dead - Season 3
I loved last week's episode and hated this week's. so it's not like I hate every episode. And this one wasn't boring because of a lack of action. It was boring because it was pointless. If it never existed, we'd be in the same spot - the gov wants Rick dead (who really believed the michone deal?), andrea is conflicted, Hershel is reasonable, Daryl is a bad dude, etc. and it's all building up to something I give 2 craps about.

I went to bed about two seconds after the Pens game.
It sounds like I missed a riveting episode.

I enjoyed the episode. It was necessary and needed to continue the story.

Re: Walking Dead - Season 3
This set Milton up to turn on the Governor. He seems more fascinated with Rick's group, especially Herschel. We wants knowledge, he's hit a dead end pretty much in Woodbury.
The banter between Darryl and Martinez was good too. They are both just soldiers doing what they have to do.
Of course the whole episode could have been avoided had Rick shot the Gov at the beginning and left before his people arrived.

nobody needs any more setup to turn on the governor. it's well established by now to all parties that he's an a-wad.DelPen wrote:This set Milton up to turn on the Governor. darryl and martinez was a good moment - i'll concede that.
the governor's duct taped gun wasn't going to be much of a match for rick and his video game accuracy. lame lame lame premise right there.
overall, this episode just didn't take us anywhere new. 5 seconds of a guy we don't care about (martinez) altering his characterization isn't really enough. this episode literally could have never existed and we'd still be left with the same impending showdown.

Milton needed a final push, he looks like he has moved from being afraid of to being disgusted by the Gov. A few episodes ago he'd have a scared look on his face or try to apologize for telling the governor killing everyone who brings Michonne to him would still be a slaughter.shmenguin wrote:nobody needs any more setup to turn on the governor. it's well established by now to all parties that he's an a-wad.DelPen wrote:This set Milton up to turn on the Governor. They've announced a new show runner, so I guess it's been renewed for the fall.

Re: Walking Dead - Season 3
I kinda liked this episode.
It showed the almost distorted mirror images of the two camps directly...especially with Rick and the Gov. Milton sees that these are the 'monsters' the Gov made them out to be. Andrea further cemented her place as the single most worthless TV character ever created. All in all, I give it a B-.

These two should be in the running as well.
