After the mauling of Terry Bellefeur had ended all of the fun and everyone was brought back to the fact that Bon Temps is a place where no one is ever safe, the town began to look for suspects. Some people overheard Troy Loney talking to himself saying "Look at all 'dese fangbangers, I wish that thing woulda killed one a 'dem." Frightened by Troy's violent comments, the town acted quickly. The group used a wooden stake just in case, but when Troy simply bled to death on the floor rather than exploding into a bloody mess, the town realized that he was:
