No money in a cure. It's true for all diseases.

Ebola isn't airborne like it was portrayed as in Outbreak, but it does spread more easily than AIDS, especially given that a symptom of the virus is bleeding and hemmoraging everywhere.
I think its the kind of thing the military would actively fund and develop antiviral drugs for.

Yeah I think that may have been why I thought it was spread easier than AIDS. AIDS patients don't, as far as I know, randomly bleed and ooze infected fluid as a symptom.

Wha? You've never heard of it being spread by shared needles, blood transfusions, passed onto children, etc?

No no no. I just always think of it that way and the transmission via other fluids usually doesn't come to mind. Like I said, the propaganda surrounding the disease was atrocious and probably is the reason why.

The article describes the patient as a "close associate", so who knows for sure.

Didn't they say AIDS came from monkeys in the early years as well?
So maybe we should kill all the monkeys.

So he told the ER staff he was in from Liberia. A nurse asked if he was from an affected area...and then the ball gets dropped.
Just "Liberia" should have been enough to keep him in isolation at the hospital.
