Won't he be ecstatic when he comes here and Sullivan refuses to give him a chance and then he realizes what REALLY not getting a fair shot looks like.
Only thing I can see that would support him not being in the NHL pretty much all next year is that he has the same agent as Sid and Sid does have a lot pull on who he plays with, he always seems to get first pick on his wings, and he defers to the coaches on the rest of the lineup. There is still an opportunity for McGroarty to rack the top 6 mainly because there’s lack of better options. It’s Rust, Rakell, Bunting and DOC. And honestly the only two I see as locks in the top 6 are Rust because of who he is and Bunting because he clicked with Geno immediately.

If McGroarty comes in, looks good with Sid on the LW and his skating is NHL level he has a good chance to make it if Sid wants him here this coming season.

I've changed my mind on firing Sullivan.

If it is the difference between Sid signing for 3 years, or not, I will accept Sullivan being here.

Why do you assume Sid demands Sully as coach for next years?

I don't think Sid makes demands. And I've been reading constantly -- on the subject of Sully perhaps possibly getting axed -- that Sid loves playing under Sully. I'll assume that's still true.

"Look Sid, we're retooling this team as fast as we can without breaking everything. Traded Yager for a guy who is closer - should be an option for your LW. We picked up some younger players, there should be a lot of competition from the bottom up for spots. We're not a favourite for any Stanley Cups, but if you want to play with Sullivan, we're keeping him around."

I dunno. Could be part of the intangibles to keep Sid in town.

Heard Yohe on NHL radio this morning. Nothing major. He did say the organization is very high on McGorarty and fully expect him to make an impact on the team this year. Then he mentioned there is an opening on Sid's line. We'll see.

Seen some comps to Jamie Benn in McGroarty. Man how much would that rule? I could also see a Sam Bennett type of player.

Yager projecting more like a McCann type. Still a solid player but I would much rather have all of those physical, leadership intangibles that McGroarty displays.

After reading all these posts, you better hope McGroarty lives up to all the hype he’s received.

The chances of McGroarty starting the season on the top line has to be about .00002%. Maybe less.

Hyperbole is the best thing ever. I think this is a fair spread:
- DOC 75%
- Bunting 10%
- Rakell 5%
- Beauvillier 4%
- McGroarty 3%
- Other 3%

There are some very good reasons to keep DOC on 1LW to start the season, but it's entirely possible someone else gets a shot there due to injury or other lineup choices.

Here's a very hard grader for McGroarty. Says he should start at the AHL with Ponomarov....Very tough critique. Makes me wonder if this guy likes any prospects.

Former frequent poster on this board with that analysis. He admittedly said he was a bit harder on him, had him as a 2nd round selection. I read his full scouting report elsewhere, and one thing I would question is the hockey IQ. This person seemed to indicate he was slow to process at times. Maybe he's improved that since the draft writeup, but, I keep hearing that his hockey IQ and processing is one of his best attributes, along with his shot.

Time will tell.

Who is Michael Farkas, and does he have any creditability amongst the Pro Scouts?

He's a former poster here? So many former posters here probably don't have a YouTube channel of nothing burger weak sauce.

He's been writing for some publications for awhile. Pretty sure he has a full or part time job working for a scouting service. I know nothing about scouting, so I can't comment one way or the other in terms of his credibility or accuracy in scouting.

Having said that, If he is the former poster here that I believe he is, I always found him to be an extremely knowledgeable poster here. If you like my posts and the information I posted, I always found his posts on that level of information or greater.

Chad is actually skating in Cranberry (with his Rangers gear) right now. Ruhwedel, Glass, McGroarty, Acciari, Rust and Murashov. Not sure if anyone else was added in the last day or two.

Maybe Chad gave him his blessing. LOL

I don't feel right about this.. #2 needs to be a defence man. :scared:

In seriousness, this kid really comes across as self-assured. Borderline arrogant, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
