I think there is something to the source material, but...
The initial write-up says Morgoth has all three Silmarils. If the group kills Morgoth and his men, by default the Silmarils will be gained by wiping out all the reds. I'm not sure it's a secondary goal, I think its a side note to the primary goal of killing reds. Such as, "You win by eliminating all the reds and freeing the village." That's one goal even if it has an "and" statement.

I still don't trust the Union talk. First, it would create a massive voting bloc. Second, Zaro was blindsided by the possibility when MRandall first mentioned it.

So while the mythology/story of Tolkein's world may be important, remember that it still has to fit into the context of a Warz game.
