They're also coming out with Indy 2 and Lego Rockband, they're gonna beat this concept into the ground as quick as they can...

I hadn't heard of any of those. They shouldn't make too many of them but coming out with one every year or year and a half wouldn't be bad imo.

Yeah, I just checked what games were coming out and noticed those two. I don't understand the point of Lego Rockband, but I'll have to see what it's all about before judging it. If it's simply Rockband, but with Lego characters on the screen as band members... not really sure what the point is.

I was definitely enjoying using the force on everything last night. I agree they did a great job on these games, very simple but very enjoyable at the same time.

How is Punch Out? I wanted to get that but haven't yet, went with Wii Sports Resort instead.
Yeah, like you said, very simple, but very enjoyable. Since you can't technically "die", the boards aren't that bad to beat, but going back and playing free mode to get the minikits and the challenge mode is what makes it more challenging. I haven't played any of the Bounty Hunter modes yet either. It keeps you going.

As for Punchout, if you liked the original, you'll like the new one. They have all of the familar characters from the original, and some from Super Punchout, but also have added a character or two.

You can fight in career mode, and when you beat a guy, it unlocks him under exhibition mode. Under there, you can fight anyone that is unlocked, plus they all have 3 challenges you can do when you fight them (ie. knock down Great Tiger with only 3 punches, beat him w/o losing any hearts, etc, etc).

Once you go through career mode and beat everyone, you go through again as a title defender and fight each guy again, but they have different powers. I haven't gotten to this yet, but one example is Glass Joe now wears head gear, so head punches are useless, or King Hippo has a manhole cover over his belly.

The graphics are good. It keeps true to the "cartoonish" type fighters, but obviously are going to be much, much better than the NES and Super NES versions.

You can also fight using the classic controller, or fight using the nunchuck and wand via motion, and you can also use the balance board if you have it.

Good game. I'd maybe buy it used though.

I'm sure I may be PMing you if I get stuck on Lego Star Wars and need some tips. Feel free to do the same!

Yeah, I saw that. Like you said, I hope they don't beat it into the ground. Make one a year or something.

I own Star Wars: the Complete Saga and Batman, and I'm sure I'll pick up Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and the Indiana Jones ones later, but I'm stearing clear of Rockband.

It's just they made Lego out of 4 of my favorite movie series/comic book characters, so I'll pick them up. If they make it for Lord of the Rings, X-men and Back to the Future, I'd get those too. But that is where I'd probably draw the line.

X-men would be awesome, it would be perfect for unlocking different characters with different powers to advance in the game. I like it!

Cool, I might start looking for Punch Out next time I get to a gamestop. With fall fast approaching I'll be playing games a lot more than I do now.

Oh and if they came out with a Lego Back to the Future I would be the happiest person ever.

I'm looking at some of the Wii tennis games. Grand Slam Tennis or Virtua? Neither gets a great rating anywhere.

I liked Mario Galaxy, but got bored of it pretty quickly.

I might try the new VC version of Tecmo Bowl. Also, it doesn't look like the new Tecmo Bowl Wii is coming out anytime soon.

Any Wiiware games worth buying?

I got to I think 99% on Lego Batman, but gave up on the last artifact or whatever... you need a second player because you have to fire 2 guns so that they strike the bell in the tower at the exact same time.

That aside, it was by far my favorite of the Lego games I've played... granted I've only played that and Indy.

I got 5 out of the 6 boards for Episdoe I 100% done. I can't complete the podrace board because there is a ramp in which you need the TIE fighter to get past, and I haven't unlocked that yet. It contains a minikit up there, and when you do the Challenge mode, it also contains a blue canister up there, so I can't complete those two. I'll have to come back to that.

I got the second board on Episode II 100% complete. I'm going to work on the first board tonight. That one is tough because I haven't got the controls down to fly yet. After that, I'll move onto the 3rd board on Episode II.

Good stuff.

I got the Pod race all done last night except for that same canister, didn't get started on much else, switched over to baseball.

Using a TIE Fighter in a pod race seems unfair somehow...

I picked up Star Wars the Complete Sage and Batman for $15 each at the exchange.

I only have played Star Wars so far, and I've enjoyed it. I'm hooked. Like I said above, it's not that hard, but it still presents a challenge, and the extras make the game a lot of fun. I'm sure Batman is the same way. I plan on playing that after I 100% complete Star Wars. This winter, if I get through Star Wars and Batman, I'll look into picking up Indy.

I beat the story mode. But in Free Play, to get all of the canisters, you have to use characters/vehicles that you can't use during story mode to reach unreachable places to complete the extras. You can't do it otherwise.
