Re: LGP Fantasy Hockey Keeper League
Your rookies that are under the game played limit do not count against your 25 man roster unless you call them up via UFA waivers. To add a rookie, you will have to drop another active player. In other words, you can add and subtract your rookies all season long as you see fit, until the season ends. No one else can add your rookies to their active rosters (we try to monitor that closely). After the season, you must declare your rookie keepers per the rules discussed earlier.Beveridge wrote:How does the final roster work out? What I mean is how are rookies handled.
Like right now I have 21 players but 3 of them are carryover rookies and one rookie from this year's class. Does this mean I still draft 8 players (+3 more current rookies) and then I just make a roster of 25 and if I use a rookie, I have to release a regular? And does Yahoo have you carry farm players or is it basically, you add/drop them but nobody else can so you can use your rookie for a few days and then "demote" after that?
For example, I still have rookies from 2010 who have never seen NHL time. I suppose I could just let them go, but at any rate, they are still off limits to all other owners.
If you notice anyone adding your rookies, add a message here and on the league main page. That person has to drop him as soon as it's called out. I had one of Beerman's goalies on my roster for about 2 weeks last season before he noticed! Luckily, I didn't get many starts from that move. If you are getting wins from someone else's players, that's bad. It wasn't intentional, but it is hard at times to keep track of all of them.
He drafted Jeff Zatkoff. Who drafts Jeff Zatkoff???

Re: LGP Fantasy Hockey Keeper League
I'd like to clarify something because maybe I'm just reading that wrong. If say for example for me, Ryan Strome exceeds 65 games(that will happen this season barring injury) in November...I can still freely call him up and down for the rest of the 14-15 season and he's safe, right?

Re: LGP Fantasy Hockey Keeper League
That is my understanding, and I think our understanding conflicts with what Pitts wrote.
I think it is a player's status when he enters the season that dictates whether he may be added/dropped freely.

That's my understanding, you would then use the rookie keeper next year.Idoit40fans wrote:I'd like to clarify something because maybe I'm just reading that wrong. My buddies and I use fantrax for our dynasty/keeper baseball league and we have a full minor league system and the whole nine yards but you can set up the league to keep your minor league players on the team.
Wonder if its something worth looking into: I think the free portion would have everything you use. Just an idea, no issues with yahoo but having minor league roster is kind of cool.

Kraftster loves fantrax, several of us hated it, a few others are indifferent.

At the time, yes. It is 5 years later now and while the interface has not changed a whole lot, you can drag and drop guys for setting your lineup now (though I don't do that, personally).
Its essential for the other leagues that I'm in. It would make our lives a whole lot easier too, but those who keep the google docs in line are not really complaining, so no big deal.

Yeah, I don't know what it was like 5 years ago. We've used it for baseball for 2 years, but we also did the lifetime payment offer they did so we have a lot more of the features at our disposal.
