Yes, I am Jaws (Serial Killer). I was independent, however, was told that someone was out there looking for me and if they found me, I would turn into the green vigilante. After the ball starting rolling on me early, I threw out the thing about the "package" as a way to kind of role claim without role claiming. I read briefly the Luau thread from one of the previous games and knew that they have used "packages" before, so I threw it out there in hopes that whoever was looking for me could find me - which canaan was able to do. I was able to communicate with canaan after that point, but he didn't have any other role other than finding me and turning me green. During night 4, I received the "helper monkey" which was relentel. I was able to communicate with him via PM.
