He has no one to throw to. Crabtree and Manningham are both out till November at least. On top of that ... Davis is out today. Davis is his security blanket. Boldin is the only guy he has to throw to right now that isn't unproven or a rookie. Gonna need to grind this game out on the ground.
The Cincinnati Bengals’ new anthem song lasted just one week.
The Bengals are ditching Katy Perry‘s “Roar” after unveiling the song as the team’s pregame, in-game and postgame song, according to The Wall Street Journal. The change comes after fans complained about the new anthem. “I think some fans proved that there’s an expectation that when the team takes the field, there should be more of a hard-rock, classic-rock song and I know that’s what we’re going to do this game,” the Bengals’ director of sales and public affairs, Jeff Berding, said. “Katy Perry is not going to be the last song you hear before the team takes the field.”
If you’re curious to hear what “Roar” sounds like, check out the song’s official video below.
On a side note, I can't believe Aldon Smith is playing in this game today. He's lucky he didn't kill somebody Friday night, and he has had multiple legal issues leading into this. Harbaugh's copout "The NFL has jurisdiction over these matters" answer is cowardly, IMO.

I agree he should have been suspended. That being said, I don't think the 49ers were allowed to suspend him until the league makes their ruling, at least that is what I read somewhere. The guy is a mental midget though, and for as much talent as he has I would rather him not represent my favorite team.
It's a shame, because he is an outstanding player (then again, this is a recurring theme, isn't it?). I'm not sure what the NFLPA rules are, so you may be right there.
Ugh, Kaepernick. I understand you don't have some weapons, but my God man. There is no excuse for the offensive anemia your team has shown the last two weeks.

Kaepernick is just another guy in the line of gimmick QBs. Teams plan for him now and remove his strengths... suddenly he can't do anything. Shocker. He was a great shot of adrenaline going into the end of the season last year for San Francisco. Making him a long term answer was a mistake, IMO.

Nah he will be fine. He is a good passer. He has had a two awful games in a row, one against Seattle in Seattle where there D is pretty much unbeatable, and today with no Crabtree/Manningham/Davis..... He needs to be better no doubt, but so does the whole offense. I mean you can't pass the ball when no one is getting open. I mean the 49er's WR's today got little to no separation all game long. When Kyle Williams and Quinton Patton are your 2nd and 3rd options you are gonna have issues.
He will be the franchise QB in SF for a long long time. He can throw the ball. He is not just a gimmick runner, and the people who say that must have only watched the GB playoff game last year.
He's a good passer but not great. He made up for it with his legs. Take that away and he's another average passer. That said, he will single handedly win games. But I think we see way more bad games as his career progresses. Good news is that he's big enough to not get injured as often as Vick.
I agree with Skullman. Colin Kaepernick is the real deal, two bad games doesn't make him a gimmick QB. He has an unbelievable arm and is quite accurate as well. Throw in the fact that he's a top 3 running quarterback and essentially a second year player, I'm confident he's going to have a long and successful career.
Kaepernick will be fine. he has a cannon and is accurate. when you start with his skill set you arent a gimmick, especially with what skullman said about his targets today.
We'll see. I have nothing against him. Just my opinion. He will have amazing games, but I don't see him being anywhere near a top qb as the years go by. Teams will guard against his running and his throwing wont be enough.
I'm open to being wrong, but that's just what I see.
“Obviously, I thought that we could convert it; that’s why we called the play,” McCarthy said. “We didn’t get it done. That’s the profession of play-calling. When it works, it’s excellent execution by your players and when it doesn’t, it’s the play-caller.”
When you're going for it on fourth and one, thats absolutely how it is. You are dumb.
