Acciari loses the Face Off and doesn't tie his guy up.
Playing him at Center does not work.

Hilarious win. When it was 5-1 I said to my buddy I give them a 50/50 chance of winning.

Wasn’t the score 5-1 at some point? Not a good win.

Just shouldn't be this hard to do with a 5-1 Lead.Great start had this as what should have been an easy Win.
Rust with a strong game, good to see him get on the board twice.
3rd Line with a decent effort,DOC had so many good looks.
St.Ivany and Shea were the best Defensive Pair all night IMHO.
The lack of composure from the entire Team in the 3rd Period doesn't change. Not even close to being competent in defending or finishing it off.

He played well IMO. Had some good looks and shots at the net, made some nice passes, wasn't a defensive liability. Didn't light the world on fire, but there was definitely some promise there after 1 game.

Thought he had a good game.Took a couple of hard hits but still went to the Net and nearly got 2 Goals.Hope to keep him up on that Line with Geno.

Relax. You can't have a 3rd period meltdown in the first period. Although, if it were possible, this team would find a way.
They tried to give away a four goal lead. Just wasn't enough time to get to their game and succeed at losing anyway.

So he might have what it takes to be top6 guy? The faster he gets his first goal, the better..

That's one of the frustrating things about the Pens. No lead is safe. 4 goals in the 1st period, 1 in the second, then nothing other than the Nucks scoring.

My take on why they nearly gave this one away: once Rust scored his 2nd goal it's like they then spent the rest of the game trying their hardest to get him goal #3. So many passed up shots to try top feed Rust. Most of the time those passes ended up going the other way.

I was able to watch periods 2 & 3. I live in Hawaii and this was my first chance to get an extended look at the team this season but I have been following them so even I knew a 3 or 4 goal lead wasn't safe.

There were so many ill advised passes both when Rust was on the ice and when he wasn't. It just amazes me that they take those kinds of chances when they don't have to.

We've all said it multiple times, if there's no consequences for stupid or bad decisions, the players will keep doing it. Unfortunately only the bottom of the roster seems to ever get disciplined so the top and middle guys do whatever they want regardless of whether it's effective or not.
