Wallman clearly impedes Acciari and whines about a makeup call from his guy taking a dive.

And then a worse cross check than what Glass does they don’t call. Refs having a great period.

A 2-1 loss because of 2 bad luck zone clears by the defense and the refs forgetting the **** rules in the 3rd. But still played horrible enough to make it within the margin of bad luck and officials being **** garbage. This Western voyage is awesome so far, beat the one team they shouldn’t then lose three against **** teams, cap it off in Utah with another bad loss which would be like last year losing at ASU.

As You said, the Officiating did its damage. But to score 1 Goal against the worst Team in the NHL on a 6 Game Losing Streak where they average about 6 Goals Against says it all. There is Zero Excuse for that kind of a Performance.

Re: Official GDT: Pens @ Sharks 1/27/25
Looking at the overhead shot of the disallowed goal a couple more times convinced me it was the correct call. Beauvillier clearly went into the blue area of the crease by himself before being contacted by the Shark's defender. He then clearly interfered with Askarov's ability to move across the blue area and make a save. If you go into the blue area on your own you cannot contact the goalie in any way.
The call of goalie interference was correct.

Road kill:
Sully. Grow a f'ing set of cajones and start showing anger by throwing trash cans, sticks, paperweight players over the boards onto the ice!!!!!!!!!! I am sure corporate insurance will pay for anger management classes.
The view from TV shows lower bowl was filled with Penguins jerseys.
Trying to help Junior Manager KD with his bold prediction that this road trip will shape the Penguins at the trade deadline.

Goal overturned was a fair decision, Beau was interfering Askarov.
Sully playing Nieto, Imama over Puljujarvi just another f...y..coach decision! Like wth Shea - Graves still playing over Pickering.
Finally some changes coming, god damn MF management, anybody??? Just sell majority, change the coach, roster and lets retool for next season.

Re: Official GDT: Pens @ Sharks 1/27/25
I watched the first 2 periods, that was enough. After that listless performance, if I was Dubas I would start sending out the vets and bring in some kids. At least the kids will give an honest effort and try. Last night was like an exhibition game. No emotion, physicality, hunger. The roster isn't any good, but Sullivan hockey has run it's course here.
I would let go Sullivan, let one of the assistants take over for the rest of the season and start the fire-sale. Enough is enough. They have a -40 goal differential! that's embarrassing.

KEEP SULLY FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR - LOCK UP A HIGH DRAFT PICK
-SELL SELL SELL (NOBODY SHOULD BE SAFE) THIS TEAM NEEDS A COMPLETE OVERHAUL. SELL CROSBY, MALKIN, LETANG,EVERYONE. GET PICKS AND SUCK THE REST OF THE SEASON.
IT'S THE ONLY WAY!

Re: Official GDT: Pens @ Sharks 1/27/25
No one should accuse me or others here of being fair-weather-fans, as i watched until the very end of this game. (although admitandly, i did fall asleep for much of the second period - feel free to insert follow up jokes about that
)
I felt like i was watching a summer scrimmage of NHL players. Lots of skating up and down the ice but no passion.
The body language seems bad, although tough to guage that from my living room. - but its clear to everyone that his team has checked out, from their coach, from everything. They aren't a contender of course, but they do still have enough talent to not play anything like this for so many games.

Re: Official GDT: Pens @ Sharks 1/27/25
They surely MUST address the coaching situation in the summer. Now, will they? Not sure of that after what we've seen the last three-plus years.
At the very least, somebody has to take Nieto and Acciari out of Sully's toolbox. Regardless of any flaws in Puljujarvi's game, or whatever other reasons there were for no one to claim him off waivers, he is younger and more skilled than either of those two and should play over either of them, PK be damned. There is no excuse or reason to continue trotting out Nieto, especially, on a team this close to the bottom. What do these WBS guys have? Can they be useful in the future? I don't know because Sully refuses to bench older fringe players who remind him of himself. It's the same as the Bylsma/Craig Adams love the last couple of years of Adams' tenure. And, like someone mentioned a while back, one of the core makes a mistake and the young guy gets benched.
Acciari may have a little trade value at the deadline, although that extra year of term may just submarine that idea. Nieto has zero value. Some of the WBS guys might completely tank with the big club but we won't know because of the lineup that gets trotted out every night. Maybe Bemstrom has found his game but Cody Glass (who I don't mind as a 4th liner) is entrenched in the top 9.

Re: Official GDT: Pens @ Sharks 1/27/25
As long as they have the attitude that this team can still compete for a cup and that if they fire Sullivan they'll want to hire someone like him. I don't understand how the Penguins and Steelers can keep their Mediocre Mikes after years of failures, based on the standards of both franchises. If the Penguins were the Sabres or the Steelers were the Jets, fine, they've been great. If the goal is championships, how can either franchise handle what's been going on in recent years?ahawk9 wrote: Tue Jan 28, 2025 11:02 amThey surely MUST address the coaching situation in the summer. Re: Official GDT: Pens @ Sharks 1/27/25
I couldn't watch it and I live about 30 Miles from the shark tank. First year in a long time I didn't drop $500 for an evening to watch the Pens. I took a peek a couple of times and all I saw was the Pens rushing up the ice like it was a race then execute a no look drop pass that was intercepted and the sharks went the other way. Rinse repeat. We suck, there is no hope. It has to be embarrassing for Crosby. It isn't fair to him to have him play out the remainder of his career in this system on this team.Steve wrote: Tue Jan 28, 2025 10:20 amNo one should accuse me or others here of being fair-weather-fans, as i watched until the very end of this game. That game was just a terrible dumpster fire all the way around. Terrible team playing a terrible team all playing terrible hockey while being announced by terrible announcers.
