Went back to the theater to watch the rest of FROZEN, and it was already gone. It's only playing at ONE theater in all of Los Angeles. It lasted all of one week.

So, we saw Wolfman instead and man what a turd. The first third of it was actually really fun, but it took a quick nose dive into horrible. It did inspire me to rent the original, though.
wolfman was bad? I didn't have high expectations for it since it's been on the shelf for like 2 years. The comercials looked pretty cool, though. too bad
They replaced the editor, the composer, and decided to use CGI to put Wolfman on four legs very late in the game. All of this shows. It feels incredibly uneven and the CG is laugh out loud bad. The good news: it had some cool practical effects deaths and lots of gore.

Just watched The Sixth Sense for the first time in a while...Good movie...Knowing the ending going into it made me question it more...but it was a good movie. Not easy for me to sit and watch a movie for 2 hours straight...

I remember seeing this when it first came out in the theaters. I figured it out before the movie was over and I guess I said it a little too loud, the woman behind me was none too pleased

First time I saw it I didn't know him being dead was supposed to be a secret. I thought it was obvious.

watched Almost Famous today. It was pretty decent -- nothing amazing though, for me.

Saw Alvin and the Chipmunks, the Squeakuel. Meh. The kid liked it, so it was a win from that angle. Saw it at Waterworks. Still can't quite hear properly. Never been in a theater with that audio volume.

saw avatar in imax 3d this weekend. i was quite satisfied. the effects were awesome and i thought the story was pretty decent also.
Spoiler:
however...one thing that bugged me is that they really didn't reconcile the dude's real-life persona with his avatar's. i thought they needed to show him with his nature-boy attitude when he was outside that pod thing. he still just seemed like a marine.

i didnt like the ending. i get that he wanted to be with his lady friend, but the whole species change this left a bad in my mouth (twss?)--like he was giving up on his own kind--wouldn't a true hero (i guess he wouldnt be considered as such) go back and enlighten his home world about the travesties that those people were doing to them?

if one was so inclined, they could derive a large anti-america sentiment from that movie. our image of destroying the environment, living in complete technological excess and the unnecessary invasions...looks like avatar was hammering that home the whole way.

Do we really need spoiler tags for Avatar? Anyone who's seen Pochahontas or Dances With Wolves already knows what happens :pop:

Kevin Costner is convicted of treason and is shot execution-style by the members of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders while eating vanilla pudding?

Yeah, that's in the director's cut of Pocahontas.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs was super fun. It was odd, with the feeling of a lot of ad libbing, and never wanted to be anything more than a cartoon.

I havent watched this yet, trying to wait til my son is in town again. Is it bad that Im on the verge of 30 and get just as excited about these cartoon movies as my 4 year old does?

Don't think of Cloudy as a cartoon (even though I said that's all it wanted to be), think of it as simply a comedy. I watched it with a group of 26-30 year olds and there was as most if not more laughing than any previous screening we've done.

Ended up watching Wanted last night on HBO for some reason. It wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. I actually kinda liked it. Go figure.
